Guest guest
Ok.. I'm still 100% raw - but just this past week noticed gas/pain/bloating in my upper belly region... I've been eating a lot of raw veg, sprouts, soaked grains, and some fruit, and also green smoothies... adding a bit of Cohen's Green Powder, maca (raw / organic), and some soaked dried dates. No liquids other than water and smoothies... any remedies that I might throw in my smoothies? Hemp? Chia seeds?
Guest guest
Hi Samantha (?), This can happen in new rawfooders, but if you're not familiar with food combining principles, you might want to look into that. It could be how you're combining your meals, or even what you are eating within a couple hrs. of other foods. Some people also have issues with grains, and certain raw veg., esp. cruciferous, or corn... Not sure about the maca--that's probably not an ideal food, so you might want to try eliminating it as well and see if it makes a difference (isn't that the one that Matt Monarch said gave him an erection for several hrs.?). I'd try simplifying more, instead of adding more into the mix. Simpler is better for digestion. Good luck, Laurie , samanthaleh wrote: > > Ok.. Guest guest
Hi Samantha, Laurie's advice is absolutely correct. Simplify your meals more, try to eat fewer ingredients per meal as often as you can to ease digestion, stay away from tough veggies like broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, and the tougher greens. Tender greens like baby spinach and lettuces are much easier to digest. Follow some basic food combining rules, don't eat a large amount of nuts in one sitting (the worst stomach pain I've ever had was after eating an entire raw pizza with a nut crust--I literaly thought I was going to die-I almost went to the emergency room lol!) and definitely lay off the maca. :-) Laurie, I think Matt said it actually gave him an erection for several days!!! Guest guest
In reference to Matt and his experience with Maca (if the statement is true below) Matt has stated he tends to be very extreme when he takes on new foods and supplements,( meaning takes a lot). Just use the rule, " more of something good is not better, in fact can be worse " you will know if you listen to your body if it is to much or just not right.. I use Maca, only 1/2 tsp a day, sometimes I skip a day...but I notice if I have not...sure helps me, but I have overdone it, not real bad side effect, just aware. Guest guest
Hi, I've had symptoms recently that sound very similar. Turns out I had pancreatitis caused by escaped galls stones trapped in my pancrease and liver. Just a thought to keep an eye on. I had thought it was simply incorrect food combining and couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong. So if it gets worse, you might want to have it checked out.
