Guest guest
Greetings all, This is part One of a new series of writings I am doing to educate us all on who is in our raw community and what they are up to. If you are new to the scene or have been here awhile, you may not know all the raw majic that is happening in our own back yard. So here I am to tell you all about it. This week's feature is a snippet about Doreen from www.sereneviewmanor.com Enjoy, let me know what you think (contact me through SmartRawFood.com) My intention is that you learn something you didn't know before and find out who is " out here " with you. Seems like more often is the case, we don't realize what we know until someone is talking to us or throw a thought out in conversation. This was the case the other day when I was at a potluck. So there I was at a raw potluck last week and overheard someone say they wish there was a raw assisted living or convelescent home. *I have heard this more than once in the last 4 years of my RawHood. This time I just had to pipe in with my aha moment of knowledge- Over the years I have had contact with so many wonderful people making a difference in lives of others. I met Doreen about 3 years ago when I had the restuarant, dalene's. She came in and introduced herself and what she was up to. I had immediate respect for her, her vision, and its disign. At the time of our meeting, she was looking for a raw chef to add to the care at the home she manages. Doreen is an amazing person and if you have not met her yet, I hope you contact her and find out what she is up to. Her dream and desire to assist others in the later stages of their lives to have the best quality of life possible is as wonderful as she is. I checked in with her before posting this to make sure she is still in the business of making peoples lives a joy. Here is an excerpt of what she said. Her grandmother lives in the home she owns and manages. I thought it poinent, her last words of the email " we have to make every bite or sip count " . While I believe this true for all of us, it is especially caring to provide this opportunity for our elderly population that may have had a lifetime of other options that brought them to the decline other than old age. Here is an excerpt of our email conversation (with the blessing of Doreen) " By the way, we make Green Smoothies every morning, and it is the mainstay of my grandmothers diet. That is probably the only thing keeping her alive at the moment, she loves them. She is really frail and it is hard to get much food in her, so we have to make every bite or sip count. " Doreen www.sereneviewmanor.com 360-863-6466 Check out her website, contact her and find out what she has going on. You never know who might want this kind of loving care. Most Sincerely, Mia Dalene SmartRawFood.com
