Guest guest
Would it be possible to leave out the sugar or replace it with something else? - Laurie > " ~ P_T ~ " <patchouli_troll > > > [recipe] Refreshing Raspberry Cooler >Fri, 18 Apr 2003 23:49:02 -0000 > >Refreshing Raspberry Cooler > >8 cups fresh or frozen raspberries, thawed >1 1/2 cups sugar >2/3 cup cider vinegar >1/2 cup water >2 liters ginger ale >2 cups cold water > >In a large saucepan, crush berries. Guest guest
Oh sure. I bet any sweetener equivelant to 1 1/2 cups sugar (or less) depending upon your palate, would be fine. I didn't find this overly sweet as it is, but I drank it over a lot of crushed ice. The vinegar isn't tasted, but I understand from my Grams that it lends a very thirst quenching quality. She told me about a recipe they used to make for a drink they would take up into the fields during hay bailing season that was made from vinegar, molasses and water (I think a few other ingredients, but I don't remember them).... real old-fashioned " gatoraide " . *lol* When I saw this recipe that contained some vinegar, it reminded me of her drink recipe and I had to try it. Perfect for the hazy hot humid days of summer. ~ PT ~ Doubt everything.Ê Find your own light. ~ Buddha's last words, in Theravada tradition ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , " Laurie B " <laitaina@h...> wrote: > > Would it be possible to leave out the sugar or replace it with something > else? > > - Laurie > > " ~ P_T ~ " <patchouli_troll> > > > > > > [recipe] Refreshing Raspberry Cooler > >Fri, 18 Apr 2003 23:49:02 -0000 > > > >Refreshing Raspberry Cooler > >1 1/2 cups sugar
