Guest guest
No, the school meant that, unless she can provide a doctor's written excuse for her child, then the school will continue to give the kid cow's milk. Think about this for just a moment next time you're tempted to think big business such as the Dairy and Meat industry don't influence even the thinking of the majority. Incidentally, the school cannot have any legal basis for such a demand and could probably be challenged in court but, of course, no one will bother, and these days maybe it's much safer not to. Guest guest
what makes it really bad in my area, is not only do the school's only supply cow's milk, but they also do not allow the kids to pack lunches from home. they feel that children will not get proper nutrition if they bring their own lunches. of course... our schools always know what is best........ --- The Stewarts <stews9 wrote: > No, the school meant that, unless she can provide a > doctor's written > excuse for her child, then the school will continue > to give the kid cow's > milk. > > Think about this for just a moment next time you're > tempted to think big > business such as the Dairy and Meat industry don't > influence even the > thinking of the majority. > > Incidentally, the school cannot have any legal basis > for such a demand and > could probably be challenged in court but, of > course, no one will bother, > and these days maybe it's much safer not to. > > > On Sunday, April 27, 2003, at 07:13 AM, > > wrote: > > > What!? Guest guest
they force you to PAY for a school lunch and force the kids to eat that nasty stuff the call nutrition?? I've seen a few of those lunches and wouldn't touch it with a long pole! I would certainly complain about that one. Guest guest
I remember greasey, fatty and salty food. And even in the mid-70's I was hearing schools making pretty much the same claim to *nutrition* they do now. What's nutritious about beef and macaroni swimming in tomato-colored grease and potato sticks heavy on the grease so they'll hold what seemed like the maximum amout of salt possible?! In this person's opinion, nothing ... not much. The New Search - Faster. Easier. Bingo.
