Guest guest
I had never heard about McD's replacing veggie burgers with real burgers when they would run out!! Wouldn't most vegetarians figure this one out? HELLO McD's?????? That is such an atrocity and gives me further reason to CONTINUE boycotting them. The problem is that they own one of my favorite chains: Chipotle. Does anyone know where the veggie burger replacement has been documented, or is it just a rumor??? sheryl The New Search - Faster. Guest guest
i was upset to learn that mcdonald's owned chipotle too. but i just read they are selling off their controlling shares of other restaurants, including chipotle, to focus on mcd's. so i'll feel better about going to chipotle. i think mcdonald's is pure evil too! and i equate taking a child to mcd's to child abuse! oh, and i read a while back that mcdonald's now buys some of their meat from great britian because it's so cheap. can you say mad cow burgers? and has anyone noticed that ronald mcdonald and michael jackson are looking quite similar?? hmmmmm..... lol! down with the golden arches! : ) susie --- Sheryl Arndt <ssarndt wrote: > I had never heard about McD's replacing veggie > burgers with real burgers when they would run out!! > Wouldn't most vegetarians figure this one out? > HELLO McD's?????? Guest guest
I hadn't heard much of that stuff either. Guess I'll have to add them to my boycott list too... Guest guest
By the way, on the topic of McDonald's, my hubby and I got a kick out of the menu for McDonald's in India. Not a " cow " item in sight, and lots of veggie food. And obviously they are not selling beef-seasoned fries, like they do in the U.S. Check out the menu at: http://www.mcdonaldsindia.com/calchart.htm Laurie , " artichoke72x " <artichoke72x> wrote: > anywho, just so you know, mcdonald's french fries are > not vegetarian...they have beef in them. > susie

Guest guest
Hi Sue, no, I haven't been to India, although I'd absolutely love to go sometime. I was just surfing the web one day looking for some veggie stuff and came across the McDonald's India menu and I got a kick out of it. Guest guest
My partner spent two months in India last winter. He was amused by the menu too- in New Delhi, where he stayed, it was totally vegetarian. laurieadrienne wrote:Hi Sue, no, I haven't been to India, although I'd absolutely love to go sometime. Guest guest
I was in NYC on Friday and saw a sign outside a McDonalds there advertising Mc Veggie burgers. I'm assuming that they make them on the same grill as the meat, but it's nice to see them trying. I guess NY has more vegetarians than NJ where I live, I have never see veggie burgers at McDonalds here. Burger King had them a few years ago for a short time. Guest guest
Our Burger King still has veggie burgers on the menus. I wish our McD's would get them. I always just assumed there would be something there I could eat when I finialy commited to meatless and was surprised last week. That fruit and yogurt thing just didn't cut it lol(yuck). ~Leia , SueD <somehappierstar> wrote: > I was in NYC on Friday and saw a sign outside a McDonalds there advertising Mc Veggie burgers. So, apparently if they do well there, they’ll start carrying them other places. -- Sherri " Power corrupts ... but absolute power is really neat. Guest guest
I dont know if you get Wimpey in the USA but they do a chicken style Quorn burger coated in a crunchy maize coating. Its really nice, and I prefer Wimpey anyway because they serve on plates with knives and forkes and have a much wider menu then all the other burger places. It really upests me to see all the waste paper and plastic that places like Mc Donalds produce. Guest guest
Hi Rhodri, unfortunately Quorn is still making inroads in the U.S. It seems to be spreading, albeit very slowly... some, but not a majority, of the natural foods stores that I frequent do carry some Quorn products, but mostly it's limited to Quorn tenders, Quorn beef-style grounds (mince), and Quorn chicken patties. Too bad, because it's my favorite commercially-available fake meat. I was in London a few weeks ago and LOVED seeing that a McDonald's there had a Quorn chicken sandwich on the menu. I'm not a fan (understatement) of the McDonald's chain, but I do appreciate seeing veggie food on their menu. Guest guest
We've had them in canada for some time and my friends quite enjoy them. Haven't tried them myself yet but I do like the one they serve at Harveys. The other thing they have done here is move to a vegetable isntead of beef oil for their fries, added salads and other things - except they put meat in all but one of the salads and you can't order them without *arg* Not being one for McDs in teh first place, I just tend to avoid them. Going to try putting my own veggie burgers together tomorrow night, if it works out I will post the recipie.
