Guest guest
hey what do you all think of some of the popular vegetarian meals out there such as amy's , seeds of change, cedarlane, and other various ones I cant think of at the moment. I'll say this I love the amy country cutlet in gravy dinner but the portion is way too small now if they could make a 'hungry amy' with 2 of those that would be perfect. as far as seeds of change go I hate all their dinners they look and taste like recycled barf what do some of you think stay cool Dave
Guest guest
Believe it or not, my current fave is Celentano's Vegetarian Lasagna. Full of veggies and the sauce comes out with just the right tang. But, I agree on portion sizes in general. , " Dave " <2davidm@g...> wrote: > hey what do you all think of some of the popular vegetarian meals out > there such as amy's , seeds of change, cedarlane, and other various > ones I cant think of at the moment. Guest guest
I like Amy's Veggie Loaf, and Celentano's Eggplant Medallions with Garbanzo Bean Filling. Amy's has good pizzas and veggie burgers too. Jigilou Snicklefitz <jigilou wrote:Believe it or not, my current fave is Celentano's Vegetarian Lasagna. Guest guest
Hm. I haven't explored many of the options I have seen available. I have had the Cedarlane (I think that was the brandname) Organic Vegetarian Eggplant Parmesan frozen entree. It was quite good, and I felt it the perfect size when paired with a fresh green salad and a slice of bread, that I provided myself, of course. My family once bought me one of Linda McCartney's frozen dinners, Spaghetti Boulionasse (sp) aka Spaghetti and " Meat " sauce for us yanks. It was fair, and not something I would bother buying again as I much prefer making that simple dish for myself. It was a nice little (emphasis on little) dinner, but still rather pricey for what it offered. I sort of got a bit of a chuckle over how the packaging design was made to look very similar to Marie Calendars frozen entrees. From the posts here, I should try some more of what is out there. Likely will avail myself to them when it gets too hot to cook much or we are too busy out playing this summer. ~ feral ~ Work saves us from three great evils: boredom, vice and need. ~ Voltaire, philosopher (1694-1778) ~~~*~~*~~~*~~*~~~*~~*~~~*~~*~~~*~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , " Dave " <2davidm@g...> wrote: > hey what do you all think of some of the popular vegetarian meals out > there such as amy's , seeds of change, cedarlane, and other various > ones I cant think of at the moment. Guest guest
i LOVE amy's cheese enchiladas! amy's black bean enchiladas are good too (and vegan). i also like amy's pizzas, esp. the black olive and mushroom. i've liked everything i've ever tried of celentanos...the cheese raviolli and eggplant parmesan. susie --- Dave <2davidm wrote: > hey what do you all think of some of the popular > vegetarian meals out > there such as amy's , seeds of change, cedarlane, > and other various > ones I cant think of at the moment. Guest guest
Gotta admit, I've been a vegetarian for a long time but I have never tried one of those frozen dinner things. Aren't they the thingies that are designed to look like and/or taste like meat anyway? Mind you, once away from home and shopping, I stopped for something they called a veggie burger in a restaurant (not one of the chains) because it was the only thing, apart from lettuce and stuff, on the menu for me. And although it didn't look like or taste like meat (huge relief) it didn't taste like anything else except wet cardboard. Thank goodness for the decent glass of red that helped it on its way *LOL* Best, Pat --- SANTBROWN townhounds/ http://www.angelfire.com/art/pendragon/ ---------- * " Until he extends the circle of compassion to all living things, man will not himself find peace.
