Guest guest
Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. I assumed I would have to work the holiday and took Friday off to piggyback several doctor appointments. Serendipity! I skimmed parts of " The Teen's Guide To Going Vegetarian. " According to the book, a woman in my age bracket needs 46 grams of protein per day. That would be three veggie burgers, two entire cans of vegetarian chili or one big protein shake. I was disappointed to find that beans only have 8 or 9 grams per serving. I really love burritos and was hoping they were healthier than they seem I've had one " slip-up " in the past six weeks. On Mother's Day, my parents brought me breakfast, which turned out to be chicken & biscuits. I knew it was going to make me sick, but I couldn't bear to disappoint. (Parents are psychic. If I don't eat, they'll know and if I sneak food into the garbage, they invariably find it.) On another occasion, I was going to see a new acquaintance. They were so eager to please they made the whole dinner vegetarian. Laurie " I don't eat meat 'cause I'm a veteranarian. "

Guest guest
The " Teen's Guide to Going Vegetarian " is an EXCELLENT book! I lend it to anyone interested in vegetarianism, not just teens, because it's fun to read! I highly recommend it. --- Laurie <laitaina wrote: > Hope everyone had a nice holiday weekend. Guest guest
An item that has 9 or 10 grams of protein is pretty good for a particular food serving. It is very easy for anyone to get 46 grams each day, unless you aren't eating or on some sort of restricted diet. ~ PT ~ Let the past drift away with the water. ~ Japanese saying ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~> , " Laurie " <laitaina@h...> wrote: > I skimmed parts of " The Teen's Guide To Going Vegetarian. Guest guest
I agree with you. Even with something that only has 9 or 10 grams is a good source because a half cup is a serving. Most of us eat more then that.
