Guest guest
Hello all- Starfrog again. I am looking for decent recipes for kasha and also for lentils... something simple that my children won't have seizures at the thought of consuming. But maybe something I can sneak a vegetable into... maybe a little egg or tofu. You know, a well-rounded one pot recipe. Is this too much to ask for? God, I wished I lived in the city again... that way I could order out. Oh wait, I'm poor. Never mind. Please send recipes after all. <insert smiley face I can't see here> I look at recipes on the Internet that look promising, but so many times, when I try them, they come out dreadful. I would like a real, live person (as opposed to all you dead internet cruisers out there) who has actually tasted the item to suggest it. I mean, I got a cornbread recipe off the Internet and it was TERRIBLE. How do you screw up cornbread? (Then the thought sneaks through my head that it's not the recipes....Did I mention my joy of cooking is about that of my enthusiasm for bear skat collecting?) Gods-my kids are screwed. I think they will be fabulous cooks out of self-defense. If they don't die from self-inflicted starvation or that protein deficiency I am convinced, despite all evidence to the contrary, that they suffer from. I never pretended to be normal or even rational. But I am rarely boring. Peace, Starfrog Free online calendar with sync to Outlook.
Guest guest
Can't remember whether or not your kids like hot and spicy thingies? How hot and/or spicy? Most of the food we eat is spicy - mostly Asian style. Lentils are a good standby for us - cook easily, freeze well, defrost and reheat without having a breakdown. Guest guest
Not too much to ask for at all, and basically the reason I started this list. Do check out the files here. I put all of our members tried and true recipes in there. There has got to be something you will like and that your kids will enjoy. Mine aren't vegetarians either and getting my son to eat vegetables is a challenge, too. I truely understand. ~ PT ~ P.S. I have had it requested to me upon starting this list to not allow attachments, so perhaps that is why the smiley thingies do not show up? Not sure. *shrug* Trouble is a part of your life, and if you don't share it, you don't give the person who loves you enough chance to love you enough. ~ Dinah Shore ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~> , starfrog <starfrog1969> wrote: > > Hello all- Starfrog again. > > I am looking for decent recipes for kasha and also for lentils... something simple that my children won't have seizures at the thought of consuming. Guest guest
One does, one doesn't. I mean one likes REALLY hot, one passes out at black pepper. Spicy, I am not so certain. They usually eat ketchup on everything anyway. <Beating head against desk repeatedly.> However, they have been raised on Asian type thingies. So, if something can be adjusted?
