Guest guest
When replying to posts, please try to remember to remove all but the vital parts of the post you are replying to. By keeping the whole post, and sometimes even the whole thread in the text, it creates messages that become too long, scrolling and at times confusing reading for the many list members that get their messages via the digest. Guest guest
I would also like to add that the posts should really be ON TOPIC. I have noticed (and am guilty of responding to) posts discussing psychological conditions and psychotropic medications and those do not really belong on a vegetarian list. A few of them are fine, but there has been a flood of messages every day and the vast majority seem to be off-topic. I hate to be a party-pooper, but many of the above-reference posts really belong off the list. Hell, I'm getting depressed just reading some of the posts. I'm sorry if this offends anyone and that is certainly not my intent. it creates > messages that > become too long, scrolling and at times > confusing reading > for the many list members that get their > messages via > the digest. > Thank you. > > ~ PT ~ > > The great path has no gates, > Thousands of roads enter it. > When one passes through this gateless gate > He walks freely between heaven and earth. > ~ Mu-mon > > Calendar - Free online calendar with sync to Outlook. http://calendar. Guest guest
No offence taken by me. I appreciate you mentioning it. As the listowner, I too have noted this shift but wanted to allow people to vent if they felt a need. Many of the posts started with vegetarian cooking needs being the focus, but I gree with you that now it has shifted away from that in many posts. Just incase some don't know this, there is a feature you can use to reply directly to people offlist. I want to encourage all to use that and continue with the sense of community and sharing you are enjoying on the topic of bi-polar and other related health concerns. If your posts include a vegetarian question or idea, please post it publicly to the list. I want this place to be a haven for discussion on the topic of vegetarianism. Finding others that share our ups and downs in other areas of our lives is an added bonus of a large list like this, but let's continue topics other than vegetarianism and nutrition offlist. Thank you. Guest guest
I apologize, PT........why I felt [thought] that it was ok, was due to the fact that off-topic posts have been common to this list since I came here. You yourself in the past has said that it was ok. Again, I apologize. ~Pixx On 1 Jun 2003 at 17:03, ~ P_T ~ wrote: > there is a feature you > can use to reply directly to people offlist. Guest guest
No apologies are required. I was not singling anyone out at all here. Heck, I even replied to the thread myself! *lol* It is a very grey area.... off topic posts. I guess in my mind it was starting to sound less like a vegetarian list with a few off-topic bantering posts scattered in, to sounding like a more of a bi-polar discussion list is all. No harm, no foul, just wanted to bring us back on track on the list and encourage you all to continue sharing with eachother on this topic, just offlist. All is well. Namaste. Guest guest
I think that a bit of off-topic discussion is OK and I enjoy reading some of it, but when it starts to dominate is when it is a problem. I would suggest that if others want to discuss bi-polar or whatever that they can create a new as a forum and invite the rest of us if we wish to join. --- ~ P_T ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: > No apologies are required.
