Guest guest
Dinner was good - not spectacular, but definitely good. I added some seasonings to the soup (basil, crushed red pepper, garlic, thyme), because it seemed a bit bland to me, though that could be because I've got a miserable cold. Overall though, it was hearty, healthy, and easy - all good things in my book! It seems to be a good starter recipe, at any rate, that you could adjust to suit your personal tastes/needs. The rolls were a hit. I found them a bit moist, but everyone else loved them - good flavour, nice texture, pretty colour. Next time I think I'd make 8 or 9 though; they were really too large for my personal preferences. I don't like eating that much bread. Still, all and all, for an experimental meal it was quite yummy! And it definitely helped with " comfort " aspect. I hate New England weather sometimes... -- Sherri Artificial intelligence is no match for natural stupidity. Guest guest
Thanks for the review Sherri - I'm going to have to try those rolls sometime! Where in NE are you? This rain HAS to end sometime, doesn't it? -K , Sherri <sherria@o...> > Still, all and all, for an experimental meal it was quite yummy! And it > definitely helped with " comfort " aspect. ABM's make it a snap to bake fresh bread, even if (like me), you prefer to shape and bake it in the conventional oven rather than the bread maker. I love having more control over what goes into it, especially since the BF eats a LOT of bread and we're trying to lower his cholesterol. The only problem is that there are no preservatives in it, so for someone like me that doesn't eat much bread, it goes stale too fast. Fortunately, I can send home everything I bake with him! I live in Stamford, CT, in the NYC 'burbs. It's a great little community - all the benefits of a big town/small city, with the convenience of NYC a quick drive away(considering the traffic lol - quick is really a relative term sometimes!). And it's finally sunny out! Woo hooo! The yard service is outside now dealing with the jungle that sprung up from all this moisture. I was starting to feel like I lived in the rainforest, which is NOT something anyone with my arthritis would enjoy. Now I'm off to take the pooch for a walk in the sunshine. Enjoy your day - hope you're getting sun finally too. -- Sherri " You can present the material, but you can't make me care. Guest guest
Sounds very nice Sherri...I'm going to have to go back and check out that soup recipe (krupnik?). Texas Moppin Rolls.....what a name! Definitely sounds like " comfort " food! I'm gonna have to try those...maybe add " Soppin " to the name, lol. Thanks for letting us know how things turned out, sounds like a couple of keepers! (I love the spices you added...can't go wrong with those) Cheers, Shawn ----Original Message Follows---- Sherri <sherria Dinner was good - not spectacular, but definitely good.
