i've been experimenting with this for quite a while now, as i've been living

in apartments for a long time. i finally have a balcony, and i have a pretty

extensive balcony garden right now (including 7 dwarf fruit trees!). right

now i'm in the process of growing french zucchini, cherry tomatoes,

tomatillos, a few different kinds of hot peppers, radishes, and small asian

eggplants.

zucchini seems to grow VERY well in pots, as do tomatoes and peppers. just

make sure you get a nice, big pot, and get wire cages for any creeping

vine-type plants. if you can't put the plants outdoors at all, keep them by an

open

window and try to get a good light source; if not natural sunlight, then at

least a lamp with a sun bulb in it.

let me know how it goes!

grape tomatoes, but all of the ones i mentioned did

well.

HI,

I've grown carrots, grape tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, regular tomatoes,

eggplant, green beans, peppers, spinach, peas, plus lots of herbs in containers.

It's great fun to go pick your dinner!

I've had good results with all, just be sure to keep them watered and feed.

Jane

Tomatoes, beans, carrots, lettuce, radished, cucumbers, you name it, it can

be grown in a pot. Those long shallow planters are great for the lettuces,

onions and radishes. Deeper and sturdiers pots are needed for tomatoes and

cucumbers. My Mom had a whole garden on her balcony. It was great. Requires

careful watering.

Good grief, that is sooooo impressive! And to think I congratulated

myself for growing a few pots of herbs indoors! Nice work - and you

might have just inspired me to branch out ;=) No balcony, but yes we do

have windows! *LOL*

Best,

Pat
