Guest guest
You see, this is part of why we have so many obese people in this damn country! You order a salad, something that is supposed to be healthy, and they slop all this junk on it, like creamy dressings and bacon bits and so on. And you're right Sherri, of course a Caeser salad is NOT supposed to have bacon on it...but of course, fast food restaurants aren't too concerned with making proper food...heck, they don't even want to be bothered with making healthy food! Don't you love the way they are all trying to be modern and widely appealing by offering supposedly " healthy " options? Like Burger King offering the BK Veggie. My Mom pointed that out to me once, and I said, " Yeah, you really think they keep them separate from where they prepare the beef patties? They probably cook them right on the same grill! " And lo and behold, when I looked at the fine print on the poster advertising the sandwich, it said something about Burger King not claiming the product to be vegetarian. Well, friggin' duh! If their fries aren't vegetarian (a *vegetable* not being vegetarian - talk about lame!) then of course nothing else will be. Besides, those places are just greedy and uncaring purveyors of crap. I never eat at fast food places. The only time I go into one is when I'm watching my nephew and nieces and they want to go. Truthfully, it is easier to bring kids to a place like that rather than a regular sit-down restaurant. I still hate doing it though, but they aren't my children and their parents take them to those places, so it's not really my place to step in on that...right? (Sorry for the long post...just be glad we aren't talking in person - as anti-social as I generally am, sometimes you just can't shut me up!Hee hee) Sherri5762 wrote: Actually, where can you go these days where they DON'T put bacon on your salad??? The egg is slightly unusual, but the bacon is pretty standard. I ordered a Caesar salad from Wendy's once that was so drowned in bacon it was disgusting (no, I didn't eat it) but since when does a Caesar salad have bacon on it? LOL. Guest guest
All caesar salad dressing that I've looked at has anchovies. Sometimes anchovies are included but not listed if one ingredient is worchestershire sauce, which almost always has anchovies. Similarly, miso soup usually has bonito fish flavoring; bonito seems to be in very many japanese dishes. Thai food usually has fish sauce, made from fish. --- Be kind. Be of good cheer.
