Guest guest
OK..I have a question, esp. for you vegans. We are leaving for a Florida vacation a week from Monday. We have NEVER vacationed in our married life, let alone while we have been veggies, and rarely even eat out since I went vegan. We only go to a local eatery, Whole World Pizza and Cafe. We will be gone for 12 days, and without packing everything we eat, do you have any recommendations for good travel food? We do whole foods too, an added dilemma! I'd love to hear your travel tips. Guest guest
Hi ;=) I haven't checked these out for Florida, but these sites have been useful to us when we have been travelling ;=) They both list vegan/vegetarian restuarants and stores and give reviews of the cafes and restaurants, also explaining which ones are vegan or vegan-friendly and which are 'raw' or whole food places or, at least, have those options. Guest guest
Nancy, A veggie book I read suggested calling the local health food stores and asking them. Supposedly, that's what Michael Stipe and Natalie Merchant do I distinctly remember Orlando having at least one Sweet Tomatoes restaurant. Guest guest
that's a great idea laurie! many health food stores actually have freshly prepared foods in store as well. the band social distortion actually ate lunch at the little health food store where i worked (we had a smoothie/juice bar and a kitchen where we prepared fresh sandwiches, soups, and salads). they said it was really hard to eat vegan/vegetarian while on tour and that they often ate at health food stores. susie --- Laurie B <laitaina wrote: > Nancy, > > A veggie book I read suggested calling the local > health food stores and > asking them.
