First let me say that I have an extremely slow metabolism (medically diagnosed). The only way I used to be able to keep my weight down was to exercise. I walked 10 miles a day, every day, unless it was really cold and brrrrrrry outside. Now I can't walk except maybe to the mailbox 50 yards from the house, on a good day. I have Anklosing Spondylitis and connective tissue disease. Therefore, I am very careful about my calorie intake and try to never let it go over 1600 calories a day. Now according to the formula I should be eating 3168 calories per day (I weigh 240) and if I eat 500 less a day I should loss weight. Well at 1600 calories a day I maintain my weight quite steady. Does this make any sense??? I wanna be THIN!!!!!! Any suggestions? I've heard that cayenne pepper (and other spicy foods) helps raise your body temperature, which in turns speeds up your metabolism! SO, you could try eating lots of hot food! (Although, I eat lots of it and haven't lost a thing....)

Yep. Eat Cayenne 15 minutes before meals, on my meals, love salsa, crushed hot chilies etc. So far it just doesn't seem to be doing it for me either. You would think that with all the breakthroughs they have been makiing in modern medicine, someone could figure out how to burn off fat with a pill. <grin> Wishful thinking in technicolour I guess. I want to be thinner so I can buy slinky loungewear that doesn't cling to the bumps. <grin> Off the rack is eveer so much cheaper than the specialty shops that sell the same style for 150% more. Guest guest
Hi Heather, I didn't do the math, but that many calories seems a bit high... But, what concerns me is " I wanna be thin! " Why? Why not just want to be healthy? So many of us (myself included) have the mentality that think is beautiful. Frankly, I'll take someone with a little meat on their bones any day over a skeletal model. And most (all?) of my friends would disagree wholeheartedly. It's about having a healthy relationship with food and with exercise (whatever you can do) and with " working out " your spiritual muscles too. I knew someone who constantly drank colas and popped that ephedrine crap (or something of the sort) to try and burn calories in order to lose weight.....bad stuff. S. _______________ Tired of spam?
