Guest guest
Hi there! *waves to everyone across the water* I'm Michelle from the UK & I'm new to the whole vegetarian thing. You see my boyfriend is Hindu & therefore been veggie all his life & he has introduced me & my daughter Keira (7) to it. I have to say I have felt a lot heathier since I stopped eating meat & he has also helped me give up smoking & drinking The only side effect I've found of starting a healthier lifestyle was falling pregnant!!! Hehehe. So now my main concern is getting enough vitamins & stuff for my growing baby. Any other mums on here to offer some advice? Oh and Dave...I love Sepultura too!!! I've been into metal since I was 14 I had the pleasure of seeing Metallica play just a couple of weeks back (much to the envy of my mates as it was a secret gig hehehehe). Guest guest
Anyone listen to Robyn Hitchcock, a sort of vegetarian who only eats fish.......? Definitely the most interesting/odd music I've ever heard, but I LOVE it! > I listen to Red Hot Chili Peppers, there older stuff (less known less trendy stuff is the best!) > > I remember watching Sepultura on head bangers ball... they weren't my favorite. > > K > > ~Janice~ <serenity1@m...> wrote: > >oooops almost forgot Sepultura are >heavy metal very loud and tend to > >scare away most vegetarians > > Not my kind of music. Guest guest
Hi Susie, Thanx for the welcome I'm 9+1 weeks so it's still early days yet but I'm looking forward to meeting my new person in Jan next year. I have started taking multivits (I found some with a veggie friendly capsule) & extra folic acid, which we get given for free here in the UK as it is vital for spinal development. My daughter has taken to being vegetarian really well which is a great relief but I'm still giving her multivits just to be on the safe side. My mates were worried I'd waste away becoming veggie but I've actually put on more weight & feel much better for it. So how old is your little one? Guest guest
hi michelle, my little boy is 3 1/2 and he's a vegetarian. i give him a multi-vitamin too. i took fish oil when i was pregnant and breastfeeding. after all, his healthy development was very important to me and i thought fish oil was a better source of the omega 3s. i took it right before bed, so i didn't have to burp it up all day and experience the fishiness of it. : ) take care, susie --- Michelle <toxicchickuk wrote: > Hi Susie, > > Thanx for the welcome I'm 9+1 weeks so it's still > early days yet > but I'm looking forward to meeting my new person in > Jan next year. Guest guest
Hi again Susie, I totally agree with you that baby's development is paramount & I shall ask my doctor about taking the fish oil. My partner really wasn't too happy about me eating fish or taking fish oil as he's never needed it but I do feel I know what's best for me & my body. Besides if I start craving it then he's definitely not going to have a say in the matter It's good to know that I'm not the only one who is in this situation & advice from other veggie mums is greatly appreciated.
