Aw, don't cry. I am sorry it went mushy on you again.

I had it prepared once by my sil in a microwave.

Maybe try that method instead of the baking. She placed

it cut side down in a bowl of water (about a 1/2 inch of water).

Then she nuked it on high for a few minutes, checking it every

minute or so until the flesh was fork tender, but not mushy.

Then she took it out and scraped the strands out with the fork.

Frankly, I have never tried making it myself but would use

her microwave method over the long baking time method I read

others here post. It just seems easier, doesn't heat up the

kitchen so much in the summer, and you can stop to check

it as it cooks so it won't get over-done and all mushy.

I think Abraham Lincoln said we learn more from our failures

than we do from our success. So just think, you learned

something, even if it was just what not to do next time,

and can now grow from there. Namaste

What kills me, is that, I followed the instructions to

the T.

And still, it went mushy.

Guess spaghetti style squash doesn't like me.

Only the mushy one. :-)

Mushy still tastes ok .

I'll try the microwave next time.

Thanks for the microwaving suggestion.

might want to check your oven temp....I mean get a thermometer and see if its

running as you set it. I was burning things left and right when we moved to this

apartment, and my oven was running 50 degree's hotter than what I set it!
