I will third that nomination as a " must read " . I don't know how

anyone can eat hamburger or chicken again after reading it. It also

has a great section about genetically modified foods for those who

are interested.

I have not yet read this book [Fast Food Nation] but now that you

guys are speaking highly of it, I will take advantage of the bookring

at BookCrossing for it.

If you would like to find out about the ring, check it out here:

If you decide to " sign up " for bookcrossing [you'll need to if you

want to get in on the ring for the book] please give referral credit to

PHC. No, I don't 'get' anything other than a brownie point by my

name! the site is free, they don't sell your info, yadda yadda.....go

check it out. :~)

Definitely read Fast Food Nation by Eric Schlosser and Food

Revolution by John Robbins.

Silly me, when I was posting an earlier message " thirding " the

nomination for Fast Food Nation, I was actually thinking about Food

Revolution in my head. Of course, I have read them both and they

are both HIGHLY recommended. Food Revolution will make any meat-

eater not want to eat chicken or ground beef again and Fast Food

Nation will want to make you run and hide in a hole and not be a

part of our fast food society!! :)

I'm going to have to check these books out. Thanks for recommending then. :-)

I found Fast Food Nation at the library today. I looked for the other book, but

they don't have it. Can you tell me what the ISBN # is? I want to ask the

library to order it. They've done that before. I'll get the chance to read it

first if they do. :-) I also looked for some other books that have been

recommended to me. The library has very little resources on vegetarianism. I

looked for a book called " Slaughterhouse " . It's not in the library either. I

think I may just go out and buy it. If anybody has the ISBN # on that one could

you please share it with me? Thank you. :-)

What is bookcrossing? Is it sort of like an online library?
