Guest guest
Most trolls are portrayed quite negatively in film and books, thus being highly misunderstood. Same sort of slanderous misconceptions have trickled into modern cyber lore as well, where anyone thought to being a troublemaker in a usergroup is called a " troll " ; I am quite guilty of using this term myself. Thinking more in terms of those delightfully cute troll dolls with the bitchin' cool colored hair and ready smiles is probably the most accurate depiction of them, but there are many types of trolls. Do trolls turn into stone when they come out into the sun? The answer is, some do, yes. Not all. However they do all tan quite easily and the sun is terribly drying on their skin. Limiting exposure is advised and using an adequate SPF-paba free lotion is a must! Hanging out in the shade under bridges helps as well. ~ pt ~ It's discouraging to think how many people are shocked by honesty and how few by deceit. ~ Noel Coward ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~> , " Sheryl " <ssarndt> wrote: > Don't trolls turn to stone in the sunlight? I grew up in Michigan in the lower peninsula and those who grew up in the upper peninsula call us trolls because of the Mackinac Bridge!! Guest guest
According to the fantastic author Terry Pratchett, trolls are made of stone but are not very smart in warmer climates. Their silicon brains need to be kept cold for them to work properly. Here's an example of wot Trolls look like (as drawn by Paul Kidby): http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Village/4108/detritus.htm Totally off topic I know but I loooove fantasy & with all this talk of Trolls I couldn't not bring up Mr Pratchett *wanders off to forage for lychees* XxX Mi XxX , " Sheryl " <ssarndt> wrote: > > The wonderful thing about being a troll is that we grow > > younger with each passing year, for in wisdom comes the > > joyful merriment of eternal youth. > > > Don't trolls turn to stone in the sunlight? Guest guest
Well, I just love anything troll so thanks a bunch for posting the link; cool pic but it looks nothing like me. *lol* I enjoy reading anything I can about trolls and the many legends and lore about them. I have carved for you a Troll-rune and three others besides: lust and lewdness and frenzy, but each one will be erased if the need for them is gone. ~ Skirnir to the giantess Gerd from the Havamal Edda ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , " Michelle " <toxicchickuk> wrote: > Here's an example of wot Trolls look like (as drawn by Paul Kidby): > http://www.geocities.com/SoHo/Village/4108/detritus.htm > > Totally off topic I know but I loooove fantasy & with all this talk > of Trolls I couldn't not bring up Mr Pratchett > > *wanders off to forage for lychees* > > XxX Mi XxX
