Guest guest
Ya wanna try a darn good sammich! Last weekend I got a veggie delight at subway. It was soooooo good. The difference was this time I had them put everything on it (didn't pick out individual veggies). Key ingredient....Italian herb bread (limited time only...they say). Get it with all the veggies on Italian herb bread with spicey mustard, salt and pepper, and vinegar and oil (which I never got before). That badboy was spectacular. I had half a foot long on Sat and Sun last weekend...foot long only cost 4 bucks, 2 bucks a meal. Ok that's it, just wanted to share. Have a good one. Guest guest
Some Subways also have a veggie burger pattie, which they microwave without making it hard. Blimpies often has 2-3 kinds of veggie pattie, long versions of Morningstar griller, chik pattie, or black bean burger. --- Be kind. Be of good cheer. Guest guest
Ditto on most of what's been said about Subway. My only complaint is that they slice their bread funny! Guest guest
We don't have a Blimpies here in my area, but we have a chain called The Sub Shop and they make a wonderful veggie sub with a black bean Gardenburger and all the works. I do like the regular Subway veggie delight; I think those bread options really make it better than it was before they offered them. I need to see if they offer that chipotle sauce here, that sounds wonderful! ~ pt ~ Enjoy present pleasures in such a way as not to injure future ones. ~ Seneca (4 BC-65 AD) ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~> , " Dick Ford " <dickford@d...> wrote: > Some Subways also have a veggie burger pattie, which they microwave without making it hard. Um...I am not sure where you are located, but as far as " company policy' they stopped cutting it " funny " a few years ago. There is an entire community of people trying to bring back the " funny " cut!! http://spine.cx/subway/bread.php http://spine.cx/subway/rant.php A search pulls up many a blog and whatnot, where this issue is discussed. I've never eaten at either one and didn't realize they had anything veggie that was decent to eat. Guess I should try going out more.... but I get soooo tired of going to places and having to turn around and walk out, or settle for something that I don't really want, guess that's why I never eat out.... well, almost never... cheryll
Guest guest
My fav is lettuce, olives, hot pepper rings, mayo, oil & vinegar, oregano. I always tell them to pick the bread. They look at me odd, every time! [ " Don't you want something else?? " " Is that ALL?? Guest guest
Different Subways have different kinds of bread for sandwiches; at least there is white and wheat, but I've seen as many as 6 choices, like asiago cheese or oat wheat. All of them I've seen lately have the chipotle sauce and other sauces they can put on any sandwich, or they sell in bottles to take home. A footlong veggie delight can be had with our without cheese and ranges from $3 to $4, depending on the store. --- Be kind. Be of good cheer. Guest guest
http://www.subway.com/subwayroot/MenuNutrition/Nutrition/pdf/AllergenChart.pdf This link goes to the Subway.com page showing ingredients as they relate to allergies; it shows which items have eggs, dairy, and other non-vegan ingredients. The list isn't guaranteed to be complete, they say because things change. At least you can see which breads and sauces probably have egg or dairy. Only yellow or brown mustard, oil/vinegar, and onion sauce are without egg or milk; breads appear to be vegan except for the ones with cheese or honey in the name, like honey wheat bread, parmesan or cheddar cheese breads. --- Be kind.
