Guest guest
hi there, I never had the opportunity to have a full on french dinner with all the funky sauces and all that. the closest I had was this very good country french dinner at the taix bros in downtown LA alabnmost 25 years ago back in my dead animal corpse eating days. one thing I never liked was liver pate either. now the big question is are there any vegetarian french recipes out there? cause one thing I understand is that french food is decadent and delicious. so if anyone has any good vegetarian french recipes please share. one other thing I wish there were a vegetarian version of is the hollenbeck burrito from el tepeyac in boyle heights but I have less hope of getting that one lol. stay cool Dave
Guest guest
They exist, and ofcourse are much more accessible for vegetarians who consume dairy and eggs, since the french are known for their bread, cheeses, and pastries. Last Valentine's Day we celebrated our anniversary at a French restaurant. We were served a 7 course meal, completely French and vegetarian. Absolutely magnificent. Wish I had some recipes to share with you, but I never prepare what I would consider French food. I guess you could start with a quiche or tart, something that wouldn't be so labor intensive. Eons ago I made a very rich chocolate mousse, but it sounds like you are looking more for main courses. The mousse tasted good, but I remember thinking that for all the fat (and effort) I should have just had ice cream. Good luck in your search! karen , " Dave " <phantombluefan@a...> wrote: > hi there, > > I never had the opportunity to have a full on french dinner with all > the funky sauces and all that. the closest I had was this very good > country french dinner at the taix bros in downtown LA alabnmost 25 > years ago back in my dead animal corpse eating days. one thing I > never liked was liver pate either. now the big question is are there > any vegetarian french recipes out there? cause one thing I > understand is that french food is decadent and delicious. so if > anyone has any good vegetarian french recipes please share. one > other thing I wish there were a vegetarian version of is the > hollenbeck burrito from el tepeyac in boyle heights but I have less > hope of getting that one lol. stay cool Dave

Guest guest
Thanks for posting that recipe. La Madeleine's prices are ridiculous for what you get imo. Making it homemade ought to be more compassionate to the ole " Costanza " wallet. I put it in the files section.
