Sourdought, no Sour Grapes

The honey makes it not Vegan, also, but thanks for setting me straight

about the milk.

 

My son taught me to avoid sourdough on the grounds that it isn't usually

Vegan.

Yeah, I mentioned [in that email] that one would have to inquire

about the possibility of honey [as well as the milk]. But bear in

mind, the recipe I shared is just *one* possibility. Honey can be

substituted with sugar, ya know.

I understand that sourdough starter is derived in a number of similar ways.

It's basically yeast and a sweetener of any sort (to feed the yeast), plus

the unique spices that one might add. Nature takes over from there and does

the rest.
