Guest guest
Juicy Juice makes canned concentrated juices without refined sugar; 100% juice. The apple concentrate adds sweetness to recipes without too much fruit flavor; the cherry and other flavors are good in smoothies. Lemonade is good made with apple juice, avoiding the white sugar. Brown sugar is just white sugar with added molasses, but it is possible to get crystalized cane juice or turbinado sugar. --- Be kind. Be of good cheer. Guest guest
Blackstrap molasses contains a ton of beneficial trace minerals (compared to other sweeteners, at least), but it has a very strong flavor. It's good for some things like certain types of whole grain waffle/pancake batters and for some types of muffins and breads, but I probably wouldn't put it in tea or on top of fruit. Light corn syrup makes a great substitute for honey or maple syrup. It has a similar consistency to honey, but has no real taste except sweet. Of course, there is no nutritional value, and the standard kind you get in the store is probably made from GMO corn. But if the GMO issue concerns you, you can get organic corn syrup on-line or in health food stores. There is also a dark corn syrup that has a mild molasses flavor.
