Guest guest
Hi there *s I never thought I'd be up at 1am writing about (a) food that (almost) made me cry.. it was THAT good! I mentioned earlier in a post I am half Arab American, from a Christian background..Our Syrian food is much like Lebanese and ..similar in the culture/s. This past week my Husband and I tried a hummus product by these folks. (Tribe of the Two Sheiks)..With all the 'anti Arab sentiment (for some) floating around..it's just more of the same on the beauty of our culture and the Mediterranean diet, as well *s As an Artist and a Writer, a person and a Christian, I have deep respect and interest in all cultures ..faiths etc. I cannot deny many of my (fellow) Arab Americans may've (unfairly..) been given a 'wrong rub..due to a sordid few..At any rate.. I almost cried because this food The Tribe of the Two Sheiks..was so wonderful it remind me of my childhood:) Back then in grade school kids would come up to me with my little pita bread sandwich and say : " Eww ,what's that funny bread? " Fast forward 25 years and those same brats were 'grown-ups eating 'our' bread and food..as yuppies., and buying it by the crate *s Hope You're All Having a Nice Week, My prayers are with the cooks in this company tonight *s They are gifted Pax http://www.twosheiks.com
Guest guest
Wow, I didn't realize hummus had such a history. Excellent stuff. Pita is delicious....it's also a good substite for naan.
