Guest guest
Paul, Not interested in reading what is probably what I consider somebody's slanted view of him (in other words not telling both sides of a story). I realize he is not perfect....but he is the best president we have had since I have been alive (Of course that is my opinion). And he is a committed Christian which makes me even more comfortable with his overall performance (I know he is God fearing and is ultimately getting his guidance from what I consider the right sources). Nobody is perfect....and one thing I KNOW.....you have to make tough decisions in your life...and your truly not going to please everybody all of the time. This is true with the president as well...even more so because he has to deal with the constant interest groups (who of course all have different interests) and is under constant scrutiny and the worse critical eye (which in most cases is appropriate). He has to make decisions based on his own conscience...again we all do. I have liked his performance so far, and support him as president. Take care. Guest guest
I have not caught this whole thread- but want to put in my 2cents on Bush. Before he was President, I was speaking to several Texans, about his goings-on while in office there. There were many things said, most of which I don't remember now- but one thing has stuck in my mind-- when questioned about his hunting out of season, he was quoted as saying something to the effect of - I paid the fines, it's no big deal. There were worse things discussed [some of which I remember considering particularly un-Christian], but that one I found personally offensive enough to remember it. ~Pixx

Guest guest
HI, At 05:58 AM 8/10/03 -0400, you wrote: >Not interested in reading what is probably what I consider somebody's slanted >view of him (in other words not telling both sides of a story). Aargh. Unfortunately I have a feeling everyone's view is a tad slanted which is why I do try to listen to other people's viewpoints. >I realize he is not perfect....but he is the best president we have had >since I have been >alive (Of course that is my opinion). Well, based upon Gallup polls (okay, I didn't check today but . . .) you seem to be in the majority. I guess I'm in the minority. I don't like him. I don't like his viewpoints. I don't like his character. I don't like his decisions. Of course, I'm not fond of any politician, so I try to choose the lesser of all the evils. I think I like Jimmy Carter more than a lot of others that have been president because it seems (and I will admit to not too extensive of research here) that he does try to be a good person and not just while he is in office. I liked JFK too but probably more for his general charisma. I'd put Nixon and Reagan down near the bottom and the Bushes are trying to reach that level (again, my opinion) >And he is a committed Christian which makes me even more comfortable >with his overall performance (I know he is God fearing and is ultimately >getting his guidance from what I consider the right sources). You are aware that there is supposed to be a separation of church and state, right? Admittedly Bechtel and Halliburton are supposedly not under that divine umbrella, I guess. Are those the right sources? ;<) >Nobody is perfect....and one thing I KNOW.....you have to make tough >decisions in your life...and your truly not going to please everybody all of >the time. This is true with the president as well... 100% correct. He's obviously pleasing many people but I'm not one of them. My parents always told me life wasn't fair and I should get used to not getting my way. Sorry for carrying this on. I know I should have gone to the other conference. I'll be quiet now (except for that vegetarian thing . . .) Gary
