They usually have volunteers who are willing to be a pet care-giver. I suggest finding out what you/they have locally, giving them a call and find out what type of referrals she can get. They can usually steer ya in the right direction. Even if it is just a temporary care-giver, it still gives the kitty a fighting chance and more time to get a permanent home.
