Guest guest
Hi Jessika and everyone else, i became veggie for health reasons. Hoping to lose some weight and become more healthy inside and out! I then read more and became more interested in the environmental issues and animal cruelty. Then i became vegan. When asked why i usually say - for my health, for the animals and for the environment (which i think is something like the vegan society's motto - uk). I also have food allergies which really complicates my eating. When i hear people saying how they struggle to be veggie it's making me feel upset and a bit angry (not at the person, at my own situation) - i'm still a bit bitter about not being able to eat out or at other people's houses (without bringing my own food). In a way, i'd give anything to just be a veggie again. I now know so much about health and animal welfare now that i can't go back to just being veggie. I can't even smell a glass of milk without feeling sick. Anyway, thats enough of my rant. my boyf is an omni and cooks meat in the house, but i won't touch any meat or dairy myself. I also try to make him use a seperate chopping board but i occassionally get annoyed when i find out the work surface has fat splashed on it. I really want our flat to be a meat free zone but it won't be for the moment. However, we have discussed that when we have kids i want them to be veggie (maybe vegan) and so as to not confuse them, then we will have a meat free house... hopefully. If the kids start asking " mommy, why does daddy eat animals when you said it was wrong? " , then " daddy " will definitely be answering their questions!!! ;-) Laura x ~*Laura*~ * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * I am commited to random acts of literacy! http://bookcrossing.com/friend/veganvixenuk What have i been reading recently? http://www.bookcrossing.com/mybookshelf/veganvixenuk * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Check out the UK Book Crossing ! http://uk.BookCrossingUK * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Check out my ! / * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Be the change you wish to see in the world ~ Mahatma Gandhi * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * Before you criticize a man, walk a mile in his shoes. Guest guest
I'm not ready to have kids but I might try to make them become veggie. My bf would probably try to make them eat meat though. I wish I could have a whole veggie family but chances of that happening are slim. I think if I had kids, I'd be cooking more for them and eating whenever I want to. I'm a pretty picky eater myself. My mom use to make things for me like red beans and rice and I'd eat it. I also know a good veggie recipie for Hot And Sour soup. You can add egg to it if you want but you don't have to. I think I'll post the recipie here. Jessika Laura Moore <laurakatemoore wrote: Hi Jessika and everyone else, i became veggie for health reasons. Guest guest
That would be lovely, Jessika. It is great when members share their tried and true recipes with us. Those all get stored in our files section. Guest guest
That's cool. I really like that soup. Last nite and the nite before I ate that for dinner to help with my cold. It was from the chinese resturant though. The one I posted on here was from a website. It's got lots of tofu in it too. Jessika ~ P_T ~ <patchouli_troll wrote: That would be lovely, Jessika.
