Guest guest
We tried these yesterday, heated by pan frying in a bit of water. Delicious. They have a slightly bready texture but that's not a problem. They start on the palate a bit bland but, as you chew, flavor opens up and you get a wonderful spice layer that becomes quite nice. My wife diced hers and mixed the chunks into chili; very good this way. I'd recommend these, they're yummy. We found them at Wild Oats but you can check the website for possible local outlets. Guest guest
Thanks for the great review. Interesting that they come from Oregon, yet I haven't seen any tofurky products in any of my favorite grocery shopping places for vegetarian items. I am going to have to request them. At 26g of protein per serving, they sound like a great source of this nutrient. ~ feral ~ There is nothing in the world so attractive as someone who will dream with us, merge their dreams with our own, clarify the path toward the actualization of the dream, and lock their arms into ours while walking the path. ~ Neil Clark Warren ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~~~~~> , The Stewarts <stews9@c...> wrote: > I'd recommend these, they're yummy. > We found them at Wild Oats but you can check the website for possible > local outlets. > > Tofurky Kielbasa > > Turtle Island Foods, Inc. > Hood River, OR 97031 > info@t... / www.torfurky.com > > Outdoor Grill Approved > Certified Vegan by the Vegan Society > www.vegansociety.com > > You get four in a package. > > Calories each: 240 > > Total fat: - 12g > Sat fat - 1mg > Cholesterol - 0 > Sodium - 550mg > Total Carbs - 8g > Dietary Fiber - 2g > Sugars - 1g > Protein - 26g > > USDA percentages of nutrients for 2000 calorie / day diet - > Iron - 15% > Calcium - 10% > Vitamin A - 8% > Vitamin C - 4% > > Ingredients - tofu (non genetically engineered soybeans, water, magnesium > chloride and or nigari), vital wheat gluten, expelled pressed non > genetically engineered canola oil, water, shoyu soy sauce (water, non > genetically engineered soybeans, wheat, culture), herbs and spices, > granulated garlic and dry mustard. Guest guest
I just tried the Tofurkey slices today with peppercorns. It wasn't too bad! I had it on a sandwich with some sauerkraut, ketchup and mustard, but I think I got enough of the flavor to know that I would try it again! , " Megan Milligan " <yasminduran@l...> wrote: > thanks for the review. my local wild oats is having another big sale so i > bought some italian sausage again & this time I bought a pkg of kielbasa to > try. > > Megan
