Guest guest
Kurt Cobain, of Nirvana, did meat sculpture. You can see in on a couple of the later CD covers. He liked dead things, too. Sort of road kill aesthetics. This aped the back of Faith No More's CD EPIC. This in turn aped the suppressed Beatles Butcher cover that graced the first printing of the compilation YESTERDAY...AND TODAY, which shoes the Fab Four in white butcher aprons with raw meat draped over them and a dismembered doll. This in turn was a hint, wink, and nudge to Grand Guigñol Theater shock-satire. But nevermind. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banners openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their garments, and he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of a city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to be feared. " --Cicero, 42 BCE

I wonder what vegetarian Paul has to say about that cover today? Interesting about the Guignol theater. One of the museums here in Santa Fe has a bunch of Guignols displayed. Interesting, but I never knew much about what type of theatre it was.
Guest guest
>>>I wonder what vegetarian Paul has to say about that cover today? I think it's probably something he regrets now. What I wonder about is this: He's an animal rights activist. I think he must know about the terrible way the animals are treated in the meat and dairy industry. Why do you think he hasn't gone vegan? That really bothers me. I'm a relatively new vegetarian and I try to stay away from all food that has animal in it. Cloths too for the most part. ~Janice~ ************************************************************ Avoid people who belittle your ambition.
