Guest guest
i once ate veganrella cheese, and thought it tasted like crap. until this point, i'd made my own " cheeses " because i could tweak them how I wanted, and the melted. well, i went to whole foods market that just opened up in town, and saw a new brand " follow your heart " vegan cheese that i hadn't tried before. got the mozerella flavor since that's my favorite, and if the others _chedder, nacho, & ???) are anything lke it, i'm sold. the mozerella not only tastes very much like mozerella, the cheese lives up to the company's claim that it melts. :-) megan
Guest guest
We were just having a conversation several days ago about this cheese! I got my local HFS to stock in and bought the monterey jack, cheddar and nacho flavors and so far, they are all AWESOME! I'm totally sold and I myself am a diehard cheese fan, but this stuff may convert me! -- In , " Megan Milligan " <yasminduran@l...> wrote: > i once ate veganrella cheese, and thought it tasted like crap. until this point, i'd made my own " cheeses " because i could tweak them how I wanted, and the melted. well, i went to whole foods market that just opened up in town, and saw a new brand " follow your heart " vegan cheese that i hadn't tried before. got the mozerella flavor since that's my favorite, and if the others _chedder, nacho, & ???) are anything lke it, i'm sold. the mozerella not only tastes very much like mozerella, the cheese lives up to the company's claim that it melts. :-) > > megan > >
Guest guest
Follow Your Heart brand? So they are full-on vegan, too? That is great! I will definately look for them. I love cheese very much, but try to eat vegan as much as I can so finding a great product that tastes good would be wonderful and help me give up that dairy product. Guest guest
I am pretty sure the recipes Megan has used and tried are already in our files section. ~ PT ~ There can never be enough said of the virtues, the dangers, the power of a shared laugh. ~ Francoise Sagan ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~~~~~> , " ~Janice~ " <serenity1@m...> wrote: > >>>until this point, I'd made my own " cheeses " > > Please post the recipe!! :-) > ~Janice~

Guest guest
about using follow your heart in recipes: The Follow Your Heart vegan cheese would work very well in recipes. It totally melts like real cheese!!!!!!! It is the closest facsimile to real cheese that is out there. I melted it on corn chips and made some nachos the other day and it was very good! It also has directions on the package on how to melt it. It has a much softer texture than regular cheese and is maybe more like Velveeta in texture which helps it melt. If you can't find it in your local store, you can order on their website. http://www.followyourheart.com/ I simply emailed my favorite store and they were able to get some of it in stock so I could purchase it there! I tried that once. I don't know what I did wrong, but it tasted kind of bland. Maybe I should try it again. I really miss cheese and I can't find any of the fake cheeses that taste like cheese. Can these cheeses be used in casseroles like regular cheeses? ~Janice~ Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says... Oh well, I guess I'll just have to ask in person. ~Janice~ Courage doesn't always roar. Sometimes courage is the little voice at the end of the day that says... " I'll try again tomorrow " . Guest guest
I am not sure if they are called uncheeses, but in the files click on the folder titled 'Master Mixes' or just click this link if it configures right: Master%20Mixes/ Then click on the text file titled 'How to make VEGAN cheese' that was shared here by Megan. There are maybe 5 different recipes in there for making your own cheese. I think those rcipes would be a great guide to starting to make your own cheese, but you might want to play around with seasonings so they aren't bland to your palate. ~ PT ~ Help with deeds, not with words. ~ Desiderius Erasmus ~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~~*~~*~~~~~~~~~~~~> , " ~Janice~ " <serenity1@m...> wrote: > Do you mean the uncheeses? Guest guest
Okay. Maybe Megan will post some of her own ideas for how she has jazzed these recipes up to suit her.
