Guest guest
i decided to rejoin this morning. like i told pt and a few others who emailed me backchannel after i left, i just needed a few days to cool off. i went back and looked at some of the subsequent posts and can see where people might have taken my posts a certain way. and for that i do apologize. i am a very emotional person, and i sometimes cover it by sounding flip about things that have an impact on me. what happened to me several years ago isn't something i talk about much with anyone. i'm also a very shoot-from-the-hip person. as a result i sometimes come off sounding too flip, without explaining things first, which i should have done. anyway, i hope that made some modicum of sense. megan p.s. to answer dave's question, yes, i did say i was a dietary vegan who wears leather products. more for convenience because these are already things i have owned for years, and to the extent i have them, it would be prohibitively expensive for me to replace them all or most at once. Guest guest
Hi Megan! Great to have you back with us. (((hug))) I have enjoyed so many of your posts here and all you've shared about the things you've learned on your vegan path since you made that switch. ~ pt ~ Try to learn something about everything and everything about something. ~Thomas Henry Huxley, biologist (1825-1895) ~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~*~~~~~*~~~~~~~~~~> , " Megan Milligan " < yasminduran@c...> wrote: > i decided to rejoin this morning. like i told pt and a few others who emailed me backchannel after i left, i just needed a few days to cool off. i went back and looked at some of the subsequent posts and can see where people might have taken my posts a certain way. and for that i do apologize. Guest guest
Welcome back Megan. Vegetarianism is a bit contentious for anyone, and we all have reasons for what we do. In the matter of leather, I have heard that synthetic shoes contain ingredients that seriously affect the environment for decade. I understand the best alternative is hemp, but this is not readily available. We just have to do the best we can. Can we agree to cheer on what we admire in another and to ignore what we don't? It's so much easier to feel encouraged than corrected.
