Guest guest
Niccii, Hiya! Well, I do use a foodsaver during harvest, to freeze all my garden goodies for winter (I have a large garden). I freeze them in bags the size that our little family (3) uses. Mine is a " Demi " , I have no idea what it cost as it was a gift. I try to plan meals, you almost HAVE to if your going to cook some kind of dried beans or grains that have to cook for a while. But sometimes I just open up the refrigerator and it's like " OK, what do we have in here that needs to be used up... " (I hate to waste food). Sickies here too...Get well soon. cheryll , " nicciip " <N1kolleta@h...> wrote: > Hiya! > ok a few question...call me the curious cat i guess lol how many of > us use a foodsaver and pre chop veggies or other foods even vacuum > rice ect??I am searching ebay for a " affordable one " lol also how many > of us meal plan?? or is most of our meals as you eat..spur of the > momment?I for one cant stand tofu lol but my hubby is greek and we > eat TONS of beans and bean soups and have 40 day fastings so used > to..does anybody eat the kashis cereals? i just picked up a new one > called crunch that even the pickie hubby liek sas a snack lol ok now > that i have talked your ears off..... > warm regards > Niccii > (swimming in a family of sickie germs today)
Guest guest
I love the To Good Friends cereal Kashi makes. I haven't tried any of the others yet, but maybe I will. Guest guest
Hey Niccii I try my best to plan out meals the week before... then I write out a shopping list and go to the grocery store on Sunday morning when everyone else is at church lol... it's pretty empty then! I am trying to get a few months of menus, then I'll just start rotating stuff. I think we're eating more balanced now, when you have it written down you can see that you need some green veggies to go along with the starches, or whatever. Before when we were spur of the moment, we were really good at making baked french fries with vegetarian chili, but no green veggies to round out all the starches I also try to plan one crock pot meal a week, to save me some time at least one night a week. We aren't totally vegatarian - we occasionnally eat fish or chicken - so this way I can also plan maybe one night a week for one of those things. The other nice thing about planning meals is that we always have leftovers then I put them in gladware stuff right away, and there is lunch for the next day! If there's more than that it goes in the freezer for some day when we don't feel like cooking! Sorry, now I've talked YOUR ear off! lol ~Angi in NC >>how many of us meal plan?? or is most of our meals as you eat..spur of the momment?Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: Click Here
Guest guest
Hello there Angi... I would be really interested in getting some advice and ideas on meal planning. I'm a fairly new vegetarian and am having some difficulty in planning different types of meals. I also do the spur of the moment meals with my work schedule and long for a more balanced plan. Maybe you can share some of your plans with us/me if its not too much of an imposition. Would those of you that plan your meals weekly (or even biweekly or monthly!) mind sharing your menus?
