Guest guest
I really encourage all of you to read " Fast Food Nation. " It's not a liberal animal rights book, just an expose on the industry, it's history and the impact on farmers and consumers (bigger waste lines). It's amazing really. And this from a farm kid. I have mixed feelings about BK. On one side, I have read the book and am all for mom and pop local places. I also like eating where friends work... I trust it more. On the other hand, I do travel on occasion and other than SubWay, there just aren't a lot of veggie/healthy options out there on the highway aside from bringing my own food. So, I'll probably eat it the next time I travel to my parents... By the way, does anyone know the kinds of oils used in the fries? I just got a little gas grill and am grilling vegie kabobs and chicken now... Anyone have any good veggie grill recipes? Guest guest
I agree on the book. Enough said. One of my favorite things on the grill is veggie quesidillas. Grill some peppers and onions, through on a flour tortilla and add cheese (if you're not vegan) and salsa and cover with another tortilla. Grill on one side until browned and crisp, flip over (carefully) and brown other side. They are wonderful! - " genie " <genie12345678 Sunday, April 07, 2002 11:57 AM bk > I really encourage all of you to read " Fast Food Nation. Guest guest
If ever you're in a pinch and have to have fast food, there's Wendy's with more options for vegetarians, several salads (although, be careful, some have meat) and baked potatoes. The new BK veggie burger isn't bad. I think it would be better if they fixed it like a whopper. It's a start to a new avenue in the fast food world though.
