Guest guest
I eat tons... always have. I'm thin, too. People seem to think that girls don't eat much, I've prooved many people wrong. OK, so it helps that I'm 6 foot tall... but I still way out eat my 6'2" boyfriend. He has a tendancy (which he is fighting well!) to be a bit over and I never look at a scale. He exercises, I ride my bike to work and walk my dog. Go figure. One of the latest posts got me thinking about making my own pizza rolls. I'm so excited about this! I eat meat on occassion (mainly to maintane my digestive possibilities so that when I go visit family, I don't cause a ruckus) and like to go to a local pizza shop for their Saturday night special. They made them cheese free once for me, but not the next time... yes, I wrote the owner. (Very lactose intollerant) But, in the mean time, veggie pepperoni and veggie cheese shreds... Hmmm... Now I'm hungry! Does anyone have a particular favorite brand of veggie cheese that tastes good and melts well? For slices I like Veggie Delite but I havn't found a shredded one yet. BTW- If you are ever in the southern TExas region, Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio... you really need to find the HEB Central Market. Way better than whole foods, IMO. It is by far the single greatest grocery store I've ever been to anywhere in the US. Bulk foods, organic, coffee and tea in bulk and the veggie market! Egads! They actually had a sign asking the customer to eat the fruit! If you eat meat, the meat counter... they cut up a big leg bone into small chuncks just for my dog for cheap! I live in hell and many of the grad students and faculty here drive to Austin just to go grocery shopping at this store. (BTW, I'm not crazy and stalk grocery stores or anything, I just used to live in a third world country and have come to greatly appreciate the content of stores with food...) GenieI would rather regret that which I have experienced than wish I had experienced that which is past. New! I'm in Houston and go a bit insane if I don't get over there at least once a month. And OH, the spices! $0.18 of oregano fills my spice bottle, while $0.35 of cardamom pods are needed for three batches of garam masala. (Of course, my latest find is the dark chocolate-covered orange peel. At $7.99/lb, I get a small nibble only.) (Which hell do you live in?) >(BTW, I'm not crazy and stalk grocery stores or anything, I just used to >live in a third world country and have come to greatly appreciate the >content of stores with food...) Oh, I admit that I love grocery stores. Katy
Guest guest
Hey Genie, I just discovered HEB! I converted from Kroger to HEB. They have recipes in their ads. I do like to get my produce from Fiesta however, they have an abundance and are cheap. Today though, HEB has 6 mangos for a buck. I'm on it! >genie bottle <geniesflower > > > pizza rolls and big eater >Wed, 3 Jul 2002 20:34:37 -0700 (PDT) > > >I eat tons... always have. I'm thin, too.
