Since this seems to be a problem, I " ll no longer post at all. > It seems there are two kinds of cooking lists: discussion lists and recipe-distribution lists. This is also true of Usenet newsgroups - rec.food.cooking is a discussion group, and rec.food.recipes is a recipe-distribution list. I too prefer the discussion lists. This particular list seems to have a problem in that it's ownerless...no guiding hand. No one to state which kind of list it is. I cannot do this myself, because I have my hands full, but my recommendation would go like this: 1. Someone volunteer to be the list owner. 2. Several other people volunteer to be 'moderators' - really, administrators who help the owner. 3. The owner forms a NEW different list. 4. Everyone switches to the new list. If this happens, I most STRONGLY and EMPHATICALLY recommend that the owner choose the option to have strip all attachments from messages. This will prevent the transmission of viruses via the list. I also most STRONGLY and EMPHATICALLY recommend that the owner choose 'no moderation' (i.e., messages are sent directly to members, not checked ahead of time). Owners don't need moderation, it's an awful lot of work. Owners can enforce good behavior (no spamming, for instance) by kicking out the offenders. Guest guest
My understanding from reading the info at was that this is a recipe distribution list. I joined in order to get quick vegetarian recipes because my afternoons are very hectic and I have trouble with preparing a decent meal at the end of the day. If you look at the title "Quick Vegetarian", it does not seem to imply much discussion. I am hoping to see more main dish recipes. I tried the stuffing casserole and liked it. One has to be careful though......the soup and the stuffing mix listed on the recipe contain chicken/beef products and so it really wasn't vegetarian. I substituted with different brands and was pleased with the results. Anne Finance - Get real-time stock quotes

One side is the size of Montana, the other the size of a thimble. Meaning that WalMart's tactics, and government subsidies, and propensity for bribery, and so on, have allowed it to become far too huge for any head-busting Molly Maguire movement to mean anything. So no, in this case, one cannot say that the two sides balance out, nor that the union organizers are anything like as corrupt or vile as WalMart's business as usual Bush / Haliburton rapacity. > i still remember seeing a woman's face bloodied by three thugs > from the local local for merely protesting a politician they liked. > but we digress, perhaps we can attempt to stay on shoes. LOL - yes, no doubt she wandered out of the Free Speech Zone imposed by el presidente, hm? We had a rally in Omaha, Nebraska broken up by cops with clubs, and they were clubbing indiscriminately. They clubbed down an old woman who happened to wander into the down-town zone as she waited to cross a street. Broke her head and left her bleeding. Very few arrests were made; it was all about hurting as many people who were there as much and as fast as possible, as a deterrent message: Do no congregate to protest this unelected liar of a president. It was not covered on even local news. Oh, and incidentally, no one from the administration was even visiting the city. It was simply the right wing response to protests against the war for oil. Guest guest
> One side is the size of Montana, the other the size of a thimble. Questionable, imho, at least in years prior like the 70's. Teamsters, AFL-CIO were all great examples of power corrupts, and the leaderships betrayed the membership. I personally think the corruption was at least part of the reason for their decline; the way they used to bully and blackmail tiny businesses to come under their thumb was utterly Mafia-like, and happened by the zillions; you never heard about those either. > LOL - yes, no doubt she wandered out of the Free Speech Zone imposed by el presidente, hm? I hear you on the Omaha rally, but this was Clinton days. Rapacity and corruption are rapacity and corruption wherever they occurred. I won't be voting for Bush and his crew, but I do feel standards are universal, not for one side alone. Don't blame me, I suggested sticking to the topic of shoes ;-) , The Stewarts <stews9@c...> wrote: > > On Friday, August 13, 2004, at 07:55 AM, > wrote: > > > Message: 8 > > Fri, 13 Aug 2004 07:13:56 -0000 > > " radcsusa " <radcsusa@n...> > > Re: vegan footwear > > > > on the other hand, it's not like organized labor was ever above > > fighting nasty and ugly and dirty either, there's two sides to any > > story. > > One side is the size of Montana, the other the size of a thimble.
