Guest guest
Whoa! I joined a group supporting vegetarian lifestyle with quick, easy recipe ideas. Now we're talking nudism? I guarantee, NO ONE wants to see me nude! I'm a 50-ish happily married grandpa and a community health nurse. I have been gravitating toward vegetarianism for some time - no profound epiphany involved, just for health and ethical reasons. Hope to get some good recipe ideas and support, as I love to cook. Guest guest
Hi Dan, People can be Nude, at home, or in Nudist camps!!! But when they connect it with vegetarians, then it is wrong, as it does not represent, what the majority of vegetarians believe in. I think its better to spend time giving people interesting veggie recipes. Having a few friends around and cooking a nice meal, or even bring them out to eat, rather then using any excuse to go around public streets nude. There are other ways of getting vegetarian ideas across. Nobody, likes extreme, protesters. We want to come across as nice friendly people who can have a healthy lifestyle. I think you should let people know of the benifits of being a veggie, ie, low rate in heart attacks etc. Rather then going out in public nude, and not really getting information accross, instead looking like a mad man. I'd rather if you would dress up as various vegetables and walk down the streets giving out recipes or have a mardi gras type parade, with drums and lead people to a farmers market/veggie food testing. That way it is non offensive to people, it would be colourful, you would still get attention, you can still get your message accross, children could join in. Remember, the majority of people I know, became veggie when they were children. I really do hope you would do something non offensive like that. Guest guest
Hello, Dan. I'm also fairly new to the board (and to the vegetarian lifestyle). I didn't respond to the messages about the nude march...I don't agree with that kind of protest. I think a more effective one would be like the anti-smoking ads shown on tv. Rats coughing and dying in the streets...etc.. It seems like that would be a more powerful message...show graphic photos of the horrors of factory farming. Those images stick with you....in fact, that is one of the primary reasons I became a vegetarian. Rose , " danknight83401 <kishisan@m...> " <kishisan@m...> wrote: > Whoa! Guest guest
I agree, Irish Veggie! Those are fantastic ideas for promoting vegetarianism... I live in cattle country (Wyoming) and I would absolutely LOVE to see something like that in my community....the ranchers would become MAD COWboys for sure....LOL> , Irish Veggie <an_irish_vegetarian> wrote: > > Hi Dan, > People can be Nude, at home, or in Nudist camps!!! Guest guest
Hi Dan, Welcome to the group. Irish, I instant message with my ex (who is a nudist and lives in a nudist colony). He told me that a lot of nudists are veggies. He is not but knows many who are. So, although I agree that all veggies are not nudists, it seems as though many nudists are veggie. And I agree with Dan--it is way off-topic and probably needs to die a natural death. Max
