I made a pint of juice from:

2 large tomatoes

1 large carrot

1 small beet

a handful of parsley (no jokes now)

a few long stalks of celery

the thick stalk of a head of broccoli (The flower is too good to make

juice from. I love to eat the broccoli top in salads.)

four large bok choy leaves

Then I cut up two very large garlic cloves into pieces small enough

to swallow.

I swallowed the garlic down with the juice.

I feel grrrrrrrrrreat!

Hi Doreen,

I do the same thing but I juice the garlic with the rest. Your drink is great for adding more calcium to the diet.

I LOVE my juicer!

My favorite veggie drink when I eat meals is:

6 carrots,

handful parsley, (sometimes cilantro for a different taste)

2 celery

2 garlic cloves.

It is great for tummy troubles and immune system like warding off colds. The parsley is good for the days when the body wants to retain water.

Calcium Rich Drink:

4 carrots

3 to 4 broccoli flowerets and stems

1/2 apple.

Iron Rich Drink:

5 carrots

6 spinach leaves

4 lettuce leaves

1/4 turnip

4 sprigs of parsley

For headaches or a night cap:

4 apples

2 celeries

But I usually eat an apple and two celeries whole. It is great for digestion problems that include the small intestines.

Body Cleanser that helps with acid stomach, as well as, flush the toxins is:

3 carrots

1/2 beet

1/2 cucumber

For better facial skin fighting blemishes:

6 carrots

1/2 green bell pepper

A Great Energy Drink

6 carrots

1/2 beets

3 sprigs of parsley

Juicing veggies and fruits is a great way to kick the soda pop habit. They are naturally sweet tasting so kids like them.

I used to juice the garlic, but I prefer to get the whole clove.

I drink juice every day. All of the juices have at least 7 different

vegetables in them.

I sometimes add cabbage, a small sweet potato, dill, peppers of all

colors, leeks, cukes, whatever.

I don't like to clean the juicer a lot, so I make a pint in one go

with at least seven vegs in it.

I never put fruit into my veg juices so as not to have a food

combining problem.

However, every morning in the summer I do the following:

I juice 2-3 oranges, tangerines or white grapes to make a cup of

liquid. Sometimes I make the juice from other fruit.

I put that into the blender and whirl in chunks of frozen fruits I

prepare at the beginning of the week: black currants (*very

important*), cherries, mango, kiwi, peaches, nectarines, passion

fruit, bananas, berries, what have you. I always use at least 5

fruits.

Melons should be eaten alone.

That's my dinner and breakfast every day.

In the winter I don't eat frozen fruits, just whole fruit as they

come.

Hi Storm,

I have The Juiceman II and I love it. A Juiceman starts at $149.00 (the one I got is over $200.00) but Chefs.com sell the one I have at $99.00. That is where I got mine.

I grew up on Pepsi and it was hard to give it up. Whenever I get the urge to drink something cold and sweet, I make a veggie juice instead. Naturally, eating whole veggies and fruits are optimum, but making one's own juice is too.

Buying a Juiceman includes recipes and menus. It also have recipes of using the left over pulp so things don't go to waste. It is fast and easy to clean too, a must for a person who wants to use the machine a lot.

Chefs.com has top of the line kitchenware at great special prices. I get both the catalog and purchase on-line. It is a cook lover's dream catalog.

Hi Doreen,

You are right about not combining fruits and veggies together. The only exception is apples but I can't remember why. Your juicing combos sound wonderful!

Besides The Juiceman's book on recipes available in the stores, there is a great book by Cherie Calbom, MS titled, "The Juice Lady's Guide To Juicing for Health" it is a great book to have if you have a juicer.

Your morning juice sounds wonderful. I have *tons* of fruit in the freezer; think I'll try one of these tomorrow.

Thanks,

Not quite so. Sour apples may be had with non-starch *green* vegs.,

but that is a compromise.

Sweet apples don't combine with anything but other sub-acid fruits.

Lemons go with just about everything because of their low sugar

content.
