Guest guest
Don't you think that's why is gets gummy? I have good luck making brown rice but it took a few disasters to get it down right. First time I made white rice it came out in the shape if the pan and looked like glue. Haven't we all made cooking messes in the past? Donna glpveg4life wrote: HI: To make brown rice the measurements are the same however it simmers for about 45 minutes. Do not uncover the rice for the first 15 to 20 minutes of simmering. You can look after that but don't stir. Gayle
Guest guest
Hi Donna; I think it gets gummy because it is getting stirred while it is cooking... You can check it after 15 minutes but don't stir it. Since we moved a few years ago and now have a gas stove I find it a little harder to make rice. It used to come out better with the electric stove. Gayle
Guest guest
One of my son's first attempts at making macaroni and cheese from one of those box things when he was about 14 was hysterical. I told him to just follow the directions, but to be sure to read them. A little later he asked me to come in to see it as he thought something was off. He hadn't drained the macaroni before putting the cheese stuff into it...it was a tad gross. He did turn out brighter than he appeared at that moment. LOL Have I ever made a cooking mess?
