Guest guest
--- lutefisk should come with a warning label--unfit for human consumption. it has to be one of the nastiest things ever made : ). never made abelskivers but a rural church not too far from us should be having their's anytime now--people drive long distances for it. our school also puts on a fundraiser in January that I have a feeling I will try to wheedle out of and just provide some of the supplies. they are serving something called a Speckin'Dicken supper which according to one mom is a combination of the worst possible ingredients rolled into waffles. from what I gather it's a combination of certain kinds of meat cooked into waffles--my question is Why ruin perfectly good waffles? : ) apparently it's the biggest thing in the tri-county area with older people and it's huge. it will be interesting to see what kinds of foods my kids will make that will be " traditional " to them later in life : ). take care : )............. Guest guest
Just the name alone. lute (lye) and fisk (fish) LyeFish Lutefisk I sure hope you have a chance to enjoy abelskivers. Now those waffles do sound awful. Yes, some of the seniors do crave that type breakfast. I had a second uncle that added grease when making pork chops, he ate all the fat around the edges and gave the balance to his dog. His favorite food was fat. Ate a stcik of butter a day on HiHo crackers and drank coffee all day with pure cream and each cup contained 6 teaspoons of sugar. He was built like Mike Jagger, now how did he make it to age 97? I will never understand that one.
