Guest guest
Fresh Lavendar from my garden, vanilla, fresh basil from my garden, spearmint from my garden, cilantro, clean crisp soapy smell, banana bread baking in the oven, GOD I have so many- CHOCOLATE!!!! Coffee brewing! Night blooming Jasmine in the spring! The garden references are because when you walk through a garden that has lavendar, mint, cilantro, or basil, and you brush against the herbs, they release a heavenly smell! myathemouse <myathemouse wrote: Roses, cinnamon, clean laundry and many more. Guest guest
I, too, love lavendar and rose. I also like NagChampa (incense); but that's the only incense I can handle. I do have some apple cinnamon candles that I burn that are nice as they're not too overpowering. And I like anything citrusy. Guest guest
Lots of great stuff in that list. I was very tempted to add the smell of new mown grass. I think there's a story or poem with a name like that. This weekend we cut an evergreen tree in our back yard (I had a really hard time cutting it down. My wife thought it was getting too big and crowding other plants, which was true, but I still felt a little bad because it was doing so well. ) and we're using it as our Christmas tree inside this year. It smells particularly good and fresh. Then last night I was making candles for Yule presents and didn't realize that a new bottle of candle fragrance didn't have a restrictive opening for pouring (I guess I was a little tired last night) and proceeded to pour way too much into the melted candle wax. Our house smells very, very much like roses currently. Maybe a little bit too much like roses . . . It's the first candle I've made with this mold. I used a fairly bright wine red color. Haven't pulled it out of the mold yet though. http://www.soapandcandlemolds.com/moldlarge.asp?prim=20d7-21rosepatt Oh well, more candles still to be done over the next 3 or 4 nights. I make lots of votive candles and give out boxes of four (yellow, red, blue, green) Gary --- southernflower wrote: > Favorite scents: > > lavender > cinnamon > fresh apples > pine > cedar > chocolate > warm laundry > ocean > tangerines > limes > bread rising/baking > teacakes baking/on the cooling rack > fried green tomatoes, fresh out of the skillet > collards 'n' mustard greens cookin' > vanilla > almond > cumin (chili, red beans & rice, etc.) > homemade applesauce cookin' > fall leaves > woodsmoke > roses, especially the " old roses " > lily of the valley > grape hyacinth > cherry > grass just after it's mowed > Southern dirt > Southern trees/woods > water lilies > cloves > > This was a fun question! > > Bron > >
