soy formula, and it's good to be back.

Hello Donna (Lady) and Everyone,

I have been having so many problems with MSN that I just couldn't stand

it any longer. I went and got high speed internet now, so maybe

everything happens for a reason.

To respond to your question Donna, of " How are things? " I had typed this

to the group earlier yesterday or the day prior but alas, MSN was

bouncing. I just learned that term, previously unaware there were

definitions other than causing a brightly colored orb to defy gravity.

Anyway, It seems that my wife now has not just left me, but she has also

left our daughter. She has gone to New York with her new man friend. She

says she needs some space and time to " get her head together. " Whatever

that means.

My question to the group is that I need to hear from anyone who has a

child who was fed infant soy formula instead of dairy. I went through a

lot of research documentation and I have made the choice to switch her

to soy. I am worried however that things aren't always as they appear.

Does anyone here have a history with soy formula for their now older

child?

I worked all day today, then interviewed with nannies for two hours,

then made some dinner. I made the macaroni and cheese from the files,

Chanda's grandmother's version, but I replaced with the grated Mexican

cheese, which is a combination of three cheeses, rennetless of course. I

think I read it in here to do so from someone, and it was wonderful.

With that I had some corn, carrot broccoli medley that I seasoned with

Mrs.. Dash chipoltle seasoning.

I am becoming quite the chef wouldn't you say?

Now to bathe my daughter, put her down for bed, review some training

materials for tomorrow, then to the schnapps.

HI Ron,

I'm sorry you are going through this.

MY Husband was fed soy formula, and he has never had any adverse

results.

I will also ask my friend who adopted his son, he is vegan, so I'm

pretty sure his son was never fed anything but soy formula...

what sort of questions do you have?

wishing you and your baby all the best,

I am sorry to hear that your wife left, but probably better that she

left the child - if she did this then she is obviously not the best of

mothers. I wish the mother of my granddaughter would disappear

forever. She just comes and goes when the " motherly " urge strikes and

causing a lot of problems with the almost 8 year old. My son is a

fantastic dad and devotes his life to you. Be a great dad and your

rewards will be more than great. Girl or boy? what age?

When my granddaughter was starting on solid food I used to make all

kinds of fresh veggies and puree them in the blender. She ate

everything, and now a pain to get her to eat anything. She claims to

want to be vegetarian but has so many " I don't likes " that it is hard

to get proper nutrition into her body. Her mom buys too much fast food

junk. Buy organic fruits and veggies when available and organic milk

products. Actually they say now that humans do not need milk - that

it is only good for baby cows. I don't know anything about the soy

formula-sorry. Good luck, and please let us know how things are

going. Have you any family close than can help? I feel so lucky to

have my son and granddaughter live on our property so I can help.

Family is very important. Patricia

Hi Ron

I have not been on -line in a while....so very busy, however; I had to respond

to your message.

I'm sorry for what is happening to you but you have such a wonderful

opportunity to raise your daughter!

I have fed soy formula to many many children over the last 20 years, none with

any ill effects that I know of. My grandson, age 8, included in the many who

have had soy formula. The only complaint...I hate the smell!

My business for the last 20 yrs has been in childcare. I'm so glad you have

found someone you like and trust to care for your daughter. My single advise

is....never let your guard down and check often and unexpected on your daughter

and nanny. In all my years of business, there are very few providers that I

would send " my " child to. I encourage parents to check on me ALL the time at

ANY time!

Good luck

Ron, I am currently pregnant and although I do plan to breastfeed I

have been reading a lot of the differences in formula. I've read that

soy formula is much better than cow's milk formula. For brands I'm not

sure which is best. I read Mothering Magazine, which is focused on

natural family living. They might have something on their website or

in one of their discussion groups: http://www.mothering.com/discussions/

I am happy to hear that you are with your daughter and that she has

not been taken from you. From your past posts it seems she is really

the golden light in your life. I'm sure having her will give you the

strength to get through the pain. What is her name again?

Your dinner sounds wonderful, yes, you've become quite the cook!

slim chance of getting ear infections (for the baby) if you use soy. Wish

someone would have told me that when my kids were babies, but then I guess all

the docs would not have made all their money from all the tubes and antibiotics

along with doctor visits!! LOL!! I am a nurse and I encourage all parents to

feed their babies SOY!! Children have less allergies from use of soy also.

There are lots of benefits from the use of soy milk in infants.

Ron, I too am very sorry to learn your wife has left you and your daughter.

However, better now than when your daughter had been old enough to realize

what was going on. I agree about getting a good divorce lawyer and making

your wife pay alimony.

Having said that, I previously posted that 20 years ago my daughter was put

on soy formula as a last ditch desperation. Her skin problems cleared up and

she stopped having ear infections, just like Julie says, too. My dd has been

pretty healthy most all her life; has had excellent teeth with about one

cavity that I can recall, was in Honors classes all thru school and is now

in her second year of college on the Dean's List in her major, that of

Graphic Arts.

So, I say: go for it! Soy formula is great and my dd is the living proof it

works.

praying for you,

Bron

Thank you for your thoughts Angela, (angel)

I know I was not home enough, although I presumed she understood that I

was working towards a future. I am saddened that she will not be a part

of mine, but I am hoping that she comes around to be a part of my

daughter's.

After hours upon hours of interviews I have hired a nanny, the

vegetarian. :laughs:

So far so good here. She is here now eight hours per day and will be

live-in next Friday. She has already given me a grocery list and it

looks very good :laughs: so far so good. She is a pragmatic planner like

me, so This could really work out well.

Hello Patricia, (noble woman)

I do intend to do the same and feed her vegetables I puree myself. I

don't see many jars in her future.

I am happy your son is a good father, and I too will be the best I can

be. :smiles:

I agree that humans do not need cow's milk, this is why I wanted to

switch her, but I wanted to make sure I am acting solely with my head

and not just on my opinion.

Ron - do you have a ricer? It looks like a big garlic press, but I

hear it makes it easy for parents (I have one but am not a parent)to

just puree a bit of the vegetable their having - pull one out & rice

it, vs some other method.
