I also use it in my tofu salad... I think it's in the files.. I " ll

look..

=) that is the ONE recipe that caused me to keep on purchasing

nutritional yeast actually! so if it isn't in the files, I better get

it in there! =)

I " ve been strict vegan in AZ, California, NYC, and now washington DC..

once you figure out how to do things, i really think it is easy.

Nutritional yeast is good on popcorn. It gives it a cheesy flavor. I

just use oil spray lightly on air-popped corn and sprinkle nutritional

yeast on top. I bet the Bragg's liquid aminos, garlic powder and flax

meal in addition would be even better!

Hi All, thought I might post this one for Bread I came upon it yesterday

while feeling bored, and it was very good. I fancied a tart but ended up with

the bread,

INGREDIENTS

2/3 cup honey (Best from bee's feed on wild tyne but any will do)

½ teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon each: Ground cloves, ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon baking soda

2 eggs, separated (Not divorced) or subsitute for vegans

¾ cup vanilla non-fat yoghurt subsitute for vegans

½ cup raisins

¼ cup chopped pitted dates

¼ cup chopped dried apricots

¼ cup finely chopped walnuts

1 ¾ cup whole wheat pastry flour

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

½ teaspoon salt

Preheat the oven to 325 degrees.

In a small saucepan, heat the honey, bringing it just to the boiling point.

Remove from heat and stir in the spices and baking soda. throw it all into a

mixing bowl, fold the egg yolks and yoghurt or Vegan substitute and beat

together until smooth (or they give up their secrets). Add the honey mixture

and

mix in thoroughly, then rain in the dried fruit and nuts.

In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Make a

hole in the centre and drizzle in the homey-nut mixture. Stir with vigour

until thoroughly combined. Beat the egg whites until stiff, (the egg's not your

arm) then fold into the batter. Pour into an oiled 9-by 5-by 3-inch bread

mould

Bake for 55 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the centre does not

stick. Cool on a cole place, then cover tightly with foil to store.

when cool eat and enjoy.

my egg substitute include any of these. 1 tbs gram (chick pea) or soya flour

and 1 tbs water 1 tbs arrowroot, 1 tbs soya flour and 2 tbs water 2 tbs

flour, 1/2 tbs shortening, 1/2 tsp baking powder and 2 tsp water 50g tofu

blended

with the liquid portion of the recipe 1/2 large banana, mashed 50ml white

sauce

I am a little confused by the post by renaissanc242322. She

posted a bread recipe that had several non-vegan ingredients with

veganism in the subject line of the post.

You caught some of the ingredients that are not vegan, but did not

suggest a substitute for the honey (maybe agave nectar, date syrup, or

maple syrup).

INGREDIENTS

2/3 cup honey (Best from bee's feed on wild tyne but any will do)

½ teaspoon cinnamon

¼ teaspoon each: Ground cloves, ground nutmeg

½ teaspoon baking soda

2 eggs, separated (Not divorced) or subsitute for vegans

¾ cup vanilla non-fat yoghurt subsitute for vegans

½ cup raisins

¼ cup chopped pitted dates

¼ cup chopped dried apricots

¼ cup finely chopped walnuts

1 ¾ cup whole wheat pastry flour

I think he just forgot to change the subject line; it was a thread

started before his bread post.
