Guest guest Posted December 15, 2005 Report Share Posted December 15, 2005 very tasty and smell good : ). found in old cooking magazine : ). patties: 15 oz can pinto beans, rinsed and drained 1/2 c. shredded jack cheese 1/4 c. finely crushed tortilla chips 2 tbsp finely ch. green onion (I used regular) 1 tbsp finely chopped cilantro 1/8 tsp cumin 1 lg egg white 1 1/2 tsp canola oil spread: 1/4 c. mashed peeeled avocado 2 tbsp finely chopped plum tomatoes 1 tbsp finely chopped red onion (I used white) 2 tbsp sour cream 1 tsp fresh lime juice 1/8 tsp salt 2 (6 " ) pitas, cut in half and split 1. partially mash beans in medium bowl. add cheese, chips, onion, cilantro, cumin, and egg white. mix till well combined. form into 4 patties. 2. heat oil in lg nonstick skillet over med-high heat. add patties and cook 3 minutes each side or till lightly browned. 3. mix spread ingredients well and serve with patties in pitas.
