Guest guest
http://members.nuvox.net/~zt.proicer/recipes/all-recipes.htm all icing recipes. Check this out. You know my Mom makes the best icing and it doesn't have egg. She's sleeping right now. I can talk to her in the morning for you. I'm very leery of this and was hoping someone had a vegan icing that would firmup better than just the powdered sugar & liquid... anyone? Will Ener-G work? Thanks in advance! Guest guest
She wasn't that much help...LOL She makes the best icing but she said she doesn't measure. She uses powdered sugar, vegan margarine and water. She adds a teeny bit of water as she mixes and keeps it thick. Her icing does harden. She puts it on cookies, etc. Hope this helps. Guest guest
I do the same thing... it's also yummy to use vegan cream cheese.... and sometimes in place of water, I use vanilla.... and a bit of cocoa powder for a lovely chocolate... and yes, .. no measuring... but Amy .. I'm sure that wouldn't be a problem for you.. just scoop in some veg. margarine, or tofutti cream cheese, add a cup or two of powdered sugar and mix it with the beaters... =) On Dec 20, 2005, at 7:22 AM, purplepassion wrote: > She wasn't that much help...LOL She makes the best icing but she > said she doesn't measure. I never measured at the bakery in SC either, but it didn't harden much - we didn't have the margarine in it. Another suggestion was Crisco or karo... since I have the karo, I'll try it and let y'all know.
Guest guest
Thanks, Jenni! :-) I'm actually going to try it with the Karo, as I have that in the house already. I'll let y'all know how it works out.
