Guest guest
I go to my families and they male tamales. They don't use lard anymore and they make mine with jalapeno peppers and cheese inside. I have to think up some stuff to make and take with me. Guest guest
We're still undecided about whether we're going out all evening or cooking dinner at home first...if we have people over, I was going to do lasagna one pan of veg and the other for carnivores. I use the Barilla noodles so you don't have to preboil them and use firm tofu in place of ricotta cheese, spinach, tomato sauce, yum! Guest guest
Well, for the past few years I've made lentils every New Years. The Italians consider it good luck to eat lentils. as they represent coins, riches. Since we love lentils, it's pretty easy to whip up a batch and serve it with anything else we have on hand. Since I did so much cooking last weekend, I'll be taking it easy this weekend. My ankles and feet weren't liking me too much and swelled up from all the standing I did. For NYE we'll be in Des Moines as we have an appt with the midwife, so we'll probaby go out somewhere for lunch, do a few errands and then probably head home, unless there is a movie that James wants to see on the " big " screen. Guest guest
Hi Isis: You can make a vegetarian refried bean dip and put it in the slow cooker to keep it warm all night, you can serve it with veggies and tortilla chips. You can also do a veggie lasagna if you want something more substantial. Also humas and veggies and pita chips. Baked Mac and cheese. enjoy your party. g isis <isisdarkshade Tue, 27 Dec 2005 16:56:00 -0800 (PST) New Years food ideas ? Hi everyone, what are we eating for New Years " making a buffet, going out?
