Guest guest
This came out of a 1980 Bon Appetit magazine. I made a few alterations. It's always been a potluck hit. I brought one today and the early birds here at work have 1/3 of it gone. It has a lovely texture and flavor. This is one of the easiest cakes to prepare. Apple Spice Sheet cake 1 (16 oz) can apple pie filling (I try to find one with no spice) 1 3/4 cups sugar 1/2 cup canola oil 2 eggs, beaten 2 cups flour 2 tsps. cinnamon dash of cardamom 2 tsps. baking soda 1 tsp. salt Preheat oven to 350, grease a 9X13-inch baking pan. In a small bowl combine flour, cinnamon, cardamom, baking soda and salt. In a large bowl, combine apple pie filling, sugar, vegetable oil, and eggs. Mix well. Add flour mixture, mix well. Turn batter into prepared pan, smooth top with spatula and bake for 35 minutes. Until toothpick comes out clean. Cool pan on rack. Note: When cooled, take a shaker and fill with a mix of powdered sugar and cinnamon and sprinkle across the top. for Good - Make a difference this year.
