Guest guest
Does anyone in the group have Celiac's Disease? For those who aren't aware - Celiac's Disease is basically not being able to eat any foods which contain wheat gluten. This means no bread, pastas, cakes etc (unless these are made from gluten free flours). Anyway I have discovered that most vegan foods - like meat substitutes for instance all have either wheat protein, wheat flour, or wheat gluten added into them. Is anyone aware of any gluten free vegetarian hot dogs or sausages? I don't really need these types of foods - but occasionally would be a nice treat. Thanks :-) Kimberly
Guest guest
I have family members with Celiac, they are not veg. I wonder if you might have good luck making your own veg burger type mix and seasoning it like sausage? Can't help with the hot dogs right now, but I will read labels and be sure to post anything that I find! Melissa p
Guest guest
yep, all the products in my freezer contain wheat. However, Boca, Italian Style Soysage says less than 2% wheat gluten. Don't know if this will still make you react? Might try Amy's veg products-I don't have any at the moment. meliss p
Guest guest
Melissa - I have tried a couple of Amy's frozen dinners - absolutely delicious and gluten free. Does Amy's make any meatless sausages or products along those lines? Kimberly Melissa <mapalicka wrote: yep, all the products in my freezer contain wheat. Guest guest
Amy's makes great veggie burgers, not sure about wheat gluten or not...they may make sausage products. My grocery carries a small selection of these things so you may find other Amy's products depending on where you live, etc! melissa p > > >
