Guest guest
I posted it. Happy to hear the good review. If you have an Italian deli you can find the jumbo shells there. I sure hope you can try the shells next time. I think chard tastes better than spinach myself. Have any leftover???? (:- ) Donna Dove <Dove wrote: Tonight I made the Chard Stuffed Shells recipe. Well, the store didn't have shells, so I got manicotti. Let me tell you--coarse chopped swiss chard is difficult to get into a manicotti noodle. Plus they were the no bake ones, which increased the cooking time from 30 min to an hour. Dinner was late, BUT, the dish was delicious! I have tasted tofu from other people's dishes at Chinese restaurants; but never liked it. This recipe put that tofu with Swiss chard, which I like and spaghetti sauce. We keep homemade spaghetti sauce in the freezer, so that part was easy, too. I am issuing a very heartfelt thank you to whoever posted this recipe. It was my FIRST good experience with tofu. Maybe I liked it so well because the tofu was hiding in there somewhere. LOL Colleen
Guest guest
Colleen you could slice the porti's and saute in a little olive oil and garlic and toss in with the sauce. They would be good in the stuffing mixture also. Now that you are the chef this week, I think you are having fun in the kitchen. Just so you got an applause for a meal well cooked. Thank you the great recipe review. I sure try to post yummy ones. Smiles, Donna Dove <Dove wrote: Donna, then the big THANK YOU is yours! Because the manicotti was so much smaller, I had quite a bit of the chard/tofu mix left over. I had just bought 4 portabellas that I was going to try to marinate and grill today. But, now I am thinking of using them stuffed with the leftover chard/tofu mixture. Not sure what I will end up doing. Plus the " official cook " in our house has a 7-day stretch off work; so hopefully I won't have to cook anything for the next week! YEAH !!!! LOL Colleen " Welcome to the jungle.
