Guest guest
Yeah - I've not had luck with veggie meats making a meat loaf. I use lentils though and that works well & is tasty, nothing like meatloaf, way better. I think there were a couple recipes for lentil loafs (or would it be loaves) in the database.. m , " Chanda/Maria " <puterwitch@c...> wrote: > I always loved my own meatloaf. topped it with some brown sugar ketchup sauce. Guest guest
One is mine! I have another that's a FABULOUS tofu loaf. Hated meat loaf, but love the vegan versions. (The one on the side of the Nature's Burger box is pretty good too. ) Veronica At 11:55 PM 3/26/2005 +0000, you wrote: >Yeah - I've not had luck with veggie meats making a meat loaf. Guest guest
I used it to make Swedish meatballs which turned out great, so I figured the meatloaf would too, O well - melissa_hopp Saturday, March 26, 2005 6:55 PM Re: veggie loaf Yeah - I've not had luck with veggie meats making a meat loaf. Guest guest
I kind of came up with this last night on a whim. Came out AMAZING! 2 cups TVP 2 cups water 1/2 cup quick cooking oatmeal 1 tablespoon soy sauce 2 teaspoons EnerG egg replacer beaten with 2 tablespoons water 16 oz. can peas 14 oz. can corn 3 carrots grated ketchup Boil water, pour over TVP, when it's all absorbed its ready (took about 20 min for me) Mix all ingredients together and press firmly into a greased loaf pan. Cover top liberally with ketchup and bake at 375 degrees for 35- 40 minutes. ~Mel

Guest guest
Textured Vegetable Protein. It's a dehydrated soy product that comes in flakes. Very versitile, keeps forever, and is super duper cheap! --- genny_y2k <genny_y2k wrote: > What is TVP? > Deanna > > -- In , " assilembob " > > <assilembob> wrote: > > > > I kind of came up with this last night on a whim. > Came out AMAZING! > > > > 2 cups TVP > > 2 cups water > > 1/2 cup quick cooking oatmeal > > 1 tablespoon soy sauce > > 2 teaspoons EnerG egg replacer beaten with 2 > tablespoons water > > 16 oz. can peas > > 14 oz. can corn > > 3 carrots grated > > ketchup > > > > Boil water, pour over TVP, when it's all absorbed > its ready (took > about 20 min for me) > > Mix all ingredients together and press firmly into > a greased loaf > pan.
