Any chocolate lovers in the group? How about Raisinettes, remember

those? If you love raisins and chocolate like I do, make your own.

I just melt one pkg.(11.05 oz) milk chocolate chips in a double boiler

and when completely melted add apx.3 cups of seedless raisins.

I buy organic seedless raisins but have to admit I use regular

chocolate chips, white chips, peanutbutter,or butterscotch chips..You

can buy all natural peanut butter and semi-sweet chocolate chips. Never

tried the Carob chips but I will.

Turn the melted chips and raisins out on a non-stick surface and allow

to cool,set/harden.Break into desired pieces and you have a lucious

candy treat.

Much less expensive than store bought candy and less additives.

The carob ones would be great for the Vegans among us.

Smiles and hugs

Oh yes. And I need to find dairy free ones. :( I eat dark chocolate

tho... and vegan cookies.

Nana's cookies are heaven.

That's a nice thought, Deanna, about the carob chips, but I can't STAND

carob. So I will just make my chocolate chip cookies sparingly, and wait and

wish for a soymilk chocolate bar/chips to come out...

Thanks for the idea. I used to make those for my daughter when she was

little. We'd eat those and popcorn and watch movies on Friday night with her

friends. It was so much more fun than " goin' to the show " (as we referred to

going to the movies back when our town was smaller...). :>)

Bron,

I KNOW there is soymilk chocolate out there! I'm having trouble

finding many online to show you though. Here's one...

bites.htm

There's a rice milk bar by Terra Nostra (Our Earth) and I found a rice

milk chocolate bar at Trader Joe's (store brand, I think)

I'll keep my eyes open for ya. A girl's gotta have her chocolate! :)

Thanks, Shelly, for the encouragement. :>)

I'll check out that link. I have seen 'soymilk chocolate bites' at

Pangea.com but they were terribly expensive, just a few little foil wrapped

balls...not near enough to make my killer chocolate chip cookie recipe.

I wish, wish there was a Trader Joe's here but no such luck.

I haven't made chocolate chip cookies since going vegan and I'm about ready

to chuck the vegan for some very good cookies . :>) As you say, a girl's

gotta have her chocolate and I haven't in quite some time now!
