Hello everyone! My name is Misty and I'm 36 years old. I'm very new to the

vegetarian world. Just a little over two weeks old! So far so good on sticking

with it. It hasn't really been too hard except for having to make meat for my

hubby and my boys. It doesn't make me want meat, at all! Even the smell of it

cooking makes me queasy.

Anyway....I'm really looking forward to all the yummy veggie recipes I can

cook for myself and my family. They are very supportive of my decision and are

willing to try some of my veggie dishes.

HI Misty! Nice to meet you. I'm Bron and I'm 47 years old. I've been

vegetarian for six months, did strict veganism for two, and now fluctuate

between the two concepts--but try to be vegan as much as possible.

However, I don't beat myself up over it anymore and that has helped me a

great deal. My husband went vegetarian with me and vegan, as well as the

recent fluctuation between the two. I'm very blessed and know it! to have

such a sympathetic husband. :>) We both feel a ton better in our health and

as a diabetic, my health has improved remarkably.

I also have a daughter, my only child, who is 19 and in college in TX. Dh

and I live in GA. Dd wants to go veg/vegan herself, but is hampered by the

fact that she lives with unyielding meat-eaters (my parents). I keep telling

her, just do the best you can until you get out on your own.

Good for you to keep your resolve in the face of having to cook meat

continously! I'm sure that a lot of folks here--including myself--will be

glad to give you recipes and tips to keep yourself going as well as to

hopefully win over your dh and boys. Congratulations, and welcome to the

group!

Misty,

So nice to meet you. You are apx. the same age as I was when I first

started introducing healthy meals to my children and husband. No it

was not always easy but when you make it fun they will adjust. I

started out by serving fun foods like turkey and fish. Kids love

pizza, wraps, etc. I have been a Vegetarian for 20+ yrs. In the

begining I was like you still cooking meat for my family. Just sneak

in the Vegetarian side dishes as often as possible.

So you do not feel deprived make your favorite meals often just add

less and less beef, etc. and add more veggies and fruit. Don't forget

deserts. They are leaverage for encouraging your children to try new

recipes. Make sure they see you preparing the special deserts and use

them for reward.

Here's to an exciting healthy lifestyle.

Smiles and hugs

Deanna
